What started out as a good experience has quickly turned into something entirely different. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights recently while in town for business. That turned into needing to extend my stay by another 2 nights. When I spoke to them at the front desk they told me that it would be cheaper if I booked online so that’s what I did and things went off without any problem. Unfortunately, I needed to again extend my stay by another night so booked again online and then called the front desk to let them know that I needed to extend my stay and that I booked online (obviously because I was told to do that previously). The front desk girl apparently missed the part that I had already booked online but had new keys ready for me when I got to the desk so I was unaware that she just extended my stay and I still had reservations for that night in the system. At 2:30am my cellphone rang while I was sleeping soundly. It was the front desk wondering when I would be checking in. At that point I had already been in the hotel for 5 nights in the same rooms! I was of course, up the rest of the night. The next morning, I told them that I wanted a refund for the 1 night for the 1 room and was told someone would call me back. No one did, I actually ended up calling them and was pretty much accused of lying and told that I didn’t tell her I booked online and that the night auditor was doing me a favor by calling so I didn’t get double charged. BUT I did get double charged and had an extra set of pending charges in my bank account from the hotel. When I brought this up, I was told that there were not any other charges and that they did not charge me and that I needed to call my bank. These charges didn’t magically appear. Someone in that hotel charged my card. The gal that I spoke to was extremely rude and continued to speak over me and make me out to be the bad guy instead of just taking ownership of the issues. She told me that she would ask the front desk girl again and would call me the following day and hung up on me. To her credit, she did call back and proceeded to tell me that she talked to the front desk girl and she was sticking to her story and that she has never lied to her in the past, obviously inferring that I was the one lying. I again brought up the extra pending charges and was again told that they would NEVER charge my card and then refund it and that I needed to call my bank to have them explain it to me. My bank did NOT randomly charge me on their behalf! Personally, I hate this and it is very poor customer service/ guest relations. I have to be in the area monthly and would be booking 2 rooms for a minimum of 5 nights each time and fully intended to go back to this hotel until I had the misfortune of dealing with this woman in charge at...
Read moreStayed here for two nights for the museum, and it was terrible. I have been in worse but this is on the bad side. To start the wash room was maybe wiped, the shower had hair in it that was not mine there was fruit sloops under the vanity, and around the toilet was yellow and even urine stained on the wall. We went out for dinner and asked for it to be cleaned they were disgusted at the photos of the washroom but said the custodian was done for the night. And said that it could be done tomorrow, we agreed and had fun that night. When we got back we started to get ready for bed the beds were comfortable and peat free, although i was forced the pull out i sill slept the mattress was thin on the pull out but i had skeptic on worse we had to go down to the front desk for sheets and still had to wait for them. I still used my personal blanket and slept well. The next day we went to check out the gym and the sights were bot great, there was a treadmill, bike, and lifting weights but all were uncleaned. And the breakfast was also not great the breads were stale and the bacon and eggs were something to gage over, and one of the waffle machines wasn't working and the working one seemed to have not been cleaned ever. That day the room was "cleaned" the staff were friendly and offered to clean the entire room but we ask for the time to be invested strictly to the bathroom when we got back the pull out was made with my personal blankets they must have been thrown on the ground because there was dirt and crumbs in the bed it made in very uncomfortable to sleep in. To top it all of the bathroom was barely cleaned and the stains, hair, and fruit loops were...
Read moreOverall, this hotel reminded me of many Motel6 visits around the country. The basics you'd expect were fine--smooth check-in process, typical room size, bed was comfortable enough, and so on. The place did seem a little aged with a few odd construction details (such as door trim being cut out to fit around the light switch).
Our biggest complaint--and it's a big one--was that our room wasn't properly cleaned. The bathroom in particular needed a LOT more attention from the cleaning staff. The tub appeared to have been wiped out, but there were a few mystery liquids on the floor around the toilet, plus hairs scattered around the floor, etc. It was very off-putting, especially for my wife. Unfortunately, we had arrived and checked in quite late (after midnight), so we just dealt with it rather than try switching to another room.
Our next largest complaint was the noise. Despite being miles from the airport (it was further away than I realized when I booked the room) the constant sound of jet engines came through the outer wall and window loud and clear. The other walls of our room also seemed to be thin, as we could easily hear other room doors opening and closing, people walking past, etc. If you're a light sleeper, this may be a serious drawback.
On the plus side, the breakfast was fantastic. More than the usual muffins and cold cereal, there was also bacon, small egg omelettes, and biscuits and gravy. I'm not saying it was 5-star dining, but for a room in this price range we felt it was definitely better than expected.
This was our first hotel stay near the CVG airport. Would we stay here again?...
