This was by far the worst Airbnb/lodge experience I have ever had, and I travel ALOT. There was no unit number on the reservation, so we had no idea where to go when we got there. When I messaged Andrea, I got a call from a random man who made me feel like an idiot for asking what the unit number was while trying to tell me where to go to find our unit. No idea who he was. The next morning Andrea messaged me saying no pets allowed. I travel all around the country with my registered PSA service dog and have never had any issues. I notified her that my dog was a registered service animal, not a pet, and is allowed to be with me in any housing situation despite any "no pet" rules. I politely responded to her describing that. She then told me to come to the lodge office to speak with her. I walked in and she immediately started screaming at me and pointing her finger in my face accusing me of lying about my service animal. She did that for 30 minutes. I checked out the next day and 5 minutes before checkout got a voicemail threatening that if I didn't check out they would "take things further." I later found out that they almost called animal control to take my service animal while I was taking an avalanche course during the day right down the street in Estes Park. This duo shouldn't be in business. If you book a stay here know that they will be watching your every move on the cameras, all hours of the night and will most likely jump to conclusions that you are breaking rules, even if you aren’t and treat you like a piece of shit. I’m shocked these people are still in business. They both seem to have...
Read moreWe really enjoyed ourselves at Swift Current Lodge! What an absolutely lovely location! Along a quiet road so close to town with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. We had an upper room in the lodge with a balcony facing the river. Opening the window and balcony door allowed the peaceful sounds of water rushing over the rocks to enter the room and our souls. Ahhh, relaxing, peaceful, re-energizing. Our room was spacious with a dresser and a nice sized closet for our hanging clothes. The tall, dorm sized refrigerator was perfect for our needs as were the coffee maker and microwave. Towels were replaced upon request. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony and along on the riverfront which has a myriad of chair choices and a fire pit. We grilled dinner one evening, sitting at the table by the fire pit and enjoyed the river sounds and the soft sunset colors over the bluff next to us. The water from the tap is delicious here, fresh and clean. The WiFi is great! Walking from one end of the property to the other is seamless. What a pleasant surprise. The hospitality here is above and beyond. Not only was our room spotless when we arrived, but we were able to check in early and drop off our things & go hiking! Thank you Donna! Andrea & Christian were helpful with providing any items we needed and advice about places to visit. We found the best place to see Elk - up at the YMCA of the Rockies. Drove up there in the late afternoons and saw the herd- all the cows, their 2-3month old calves and the Bull, grazing, lounging and interacting on the large green. This place is a gem and we would not...
Read moreAbsolutely will return! Stayed in cabin 4, which was ideal for a solo person. The kitchen is perfectly sized for a few days (6 days total). While I didn't cook much, was perfect for breakfast and storing quick meals for hiking. And just close enough to Estes Park for dinners and browsing a few stores. Most of my days were spent in RMNP hiking. Lots of elk this time of year (this side of the park) and saw 2 moose (Mom and youth) on the other side of the park. Saw a bear off the Bear Road corridor, and a day later a bear visited the locked trashcans out back. Due to the location of the cabins to RMNP, it was probably the same bear (it was big - see the Facebook post showing the video). The cabin had all the necessary items needed for a stay. They offer free coffee at the cafe next door. The only hangup is that the cafe does not open until 7 (which is 9 my time - was already in the park by 7 their time). No ice machine at this location, but almost any store or gas station sells ice. They did have some coolers you could borrow, but I had brought one with me. As with any rental in the mountains, while they offer free Wi-Fi, my cell had much, much better reception. The hot tub was appreciated. Everything at this location was very, very clean! Will...
