My one-night respite at this Hampton was, overall, a lovely experience. The location won’t be beat if in need of the airport, and thanks to state road (99? What is it again? Lol), access to downtown Evansville isn’t too far. I didn’t use it, but it seemed there is a free shuttle to and from EVV for airport passengers. ||The lobby atmosphere is quite open and spacious, sizing which wouldn’t immediately feel realistic when viewing the hotel from its exterior. The breakfast area, which I utilized the morning of check-out, is among the more massive and spacious I’ve seen in any Hampton outpost. A pool and fitness center, along with some meeting rooms, are amenities one can use as well. I appreciated this ambitious kind of ambience for a Hampton.||One negative to the design of the common areas is the slippery flooring—combined with shoes lacking tread and pool water, the lobby floor presents a fairly significant slipping hazard for guests unprepared. As someone more afraid of falling than the average person (since I have a disability), this is a slight con.||The service was very helpful and professional, going above and beyond to ensure I had a quiet room (or at least tried to ensure) and assist with my belongings. I could always rely on the staff to assist if I needed anything. When I arrived at breakfast, I requested help getting food, and an outstanding member of the breakfast crew came out to help serve me pastries, waffles, etc. She took so much time out of her routine to deliver amazing customer service, and I cannot thank her enough! And at check-out, a man who appeared to be the manager asked about my stay and seemed committed to improvement. Kudos to the team! (I wish I jotted down the name of the breakfast attendant who assisted me…please ask who helped a guy with small arms and tell her I am very thankful!!)||The room was clean and comfortable, not to mention extremely spacious. Noise from outside wasn’t detectable, but the main reason for four stars instead of five is the noise from the hallway and adjoining rooms. The walls between rooms and hallways here are very thin, and with several huge youth sports teams staying here for the weekend, I could hear loud voices late into the night. I used my noise-cancelling headphones to drown them out, but the fact I had to do that was still frustrating. I realize this is not controllable by the hotel itself, but I must mention it out of my duties as an objective reviewer. If given a choice, pick a room on a higher floor (and opposite the highway). All in all, I wasn’t disappointed at all with the hard product received.||I would happily return to the Hampton EVV on my next trip to the city, although perhaps when I know it’s summer break and sports teams won’t be converging on any...
Read moreThe front desk lady who checked us in was mega-sweet and very friendly. A little ball of happiness late at night. The room didn't have a fridge or a microwave - I was kind of surprised based on previous visits to many other Hamptons - but wasn't gonna sweat it. I happened to be getting some tea when I heard the same staff member chat about this with a guest and she told the guest there was a microwave available in the little snack shack area and that they'd gladly store your stuff in a fridge if you'd like. I thought that was pretty nice of them to offer.
The building looked brand-new to me. Everything was so fresh and clean and just new-looking. They must have recently renovated or something. The building is great vast; two elevators, long, room-filled lobbies. Pool seemed to be in order, didn't use it.
There is one treadmill that was broken or just offline somehow. Didn't report it. There was an issue with the stationary bike not working either - the sit-down one. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. No luck. Didn't report it. But, I did think having a peloton in the fitness area was pretty cool. My wife and I got by with the two remaining treadmills. Cold water from the dispenser was nice.
Breakfast area was quite large, very clean and even though we didn't eat anything, my wife and I grabbed some fruit and peanut butter for later. She thought it was adorable to see the motivational sayings written on the bananas. Very cute.
I already mentioned that there was no fridge or microwave in the room. Beyond that, the room was standard Hampton. Wall-mounted liquids in the bathroom. Large shower. Very clean. Beds were very comfy with lots of pillows. Curtain didn't exactly want to stay fully-closed and keep out the external light, but we made it work. The A/C unit worked great at keeping the room cold and the noise level constant (instead of off/on).
This place is WAY off highway 40, so that kind of stinks. But, I would gladly stay here again. Very large parking lot and it seemed to be...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hampton Inn for three nights. The rooms were clean and modernized. The staff were friendly. However, the cleaning crew were not allowed to clean our room the whole time we were there due to COVID restrictions. We set out our trash in the hallway. We had to go to the front desk for toiletries, trash bags, and towels. Our room did not have a microwave or refrigerator which is typically very important to me for lengthy stays. Apparently, some rooms have these amenities and some don't. As for the breakfast, there was a small table with pre-wrapped muffins/breads, juice, apples, and oranges. That was it. Single serve coffee pots were in the rooms but there was nothing in the breakfast area. We were able to rent time in the swimming pool for free. Social distancing was the reason for this, no more than 15 in the pool at a time. The pool was cloudy and full of hair. My daughter got out in 30 minutes even though we reserved the pool for 90 minutes. She said it didn't feel clean. I chose not to swim after seeing the pool. If I stay here again, I'll definitely get a room with a microwave and refrigerator. With no cleaning assistance, I feel our room was slightly overpriced, even with a...
