Good place to stay, but not quite up to the standard you’d usually expect from Hilton.
Shout out to Mykaela (Michaela? Makayla? Micaela?) Who works the front desk - she was amazingly helpful and so, so sweet! That young lady deserves a raise!
Pros: Clean. Good furniture, the desk/workspace is great for anyone traveling on business. Nicely stocked little coffee/microwave area for making your own snacks in the room. Shower had good water pressure and got very hot. Air conditioner in the room kept things comfortable and worked reliably. Restaurant and bar on the first floor give you options for dining if you don’t want to go out.
Cons: Soundproofing is pretty bad - we could hear water going through the pipes near our bed all night, heard when housekeeping was vacuuming the rooms above or next to us, etc. I usually expect to be able to hear people in the hallway if I’m sitting in the living space by the door, but being able to hear things in the bedroom area was annoying. Luckily I brought my white noise machine. Breakfast is NOT INCLUDED - you buy food at the restaurant - unless you are a Hilton Honors member. The refrigerator in our room was unplugged when we arrived and was a pain to get working again.
Special: while we were there, we had to evacuate the building for about an hour. Someone reported smelling gas on the bottom floor, so the fire department and gas company were called. The staff evacuated everyone in a very calm and professional manner while still keeping them socially distanced for COVID. It seemed like the front desk girl, Mykaela?, hadn’t really been trained in what to do in this kind of thing. But she handled it like a CHAMP. She walked laps around the parking lot checking on everyone periodically and giving us all updates as soon as she learned anything new. She was very sweet and made the whole ordeal much less stressful.
SUMMARY: great place to stay with good folks working there. It’s not perfect or exorbitantly luxurious, but it is safe and...
Read moreThe room was clean. Unfortunately that’s the only positive I can share. The restaurant which is more of a diner did not have any options for people with dietary restrictions - dairy and gluten free options such as a carton of oat milk or plain yogurt are not expensive and would be a very appreciated addition. There was no breakfast menu available, only a basic buffet like you would expect in a lower end hotel. We ordered soda and wine in the evening, expecting it to be covered by the food and beverage credit under our Gold membership. Upon checkout, Amanda told us first that food and beverage credits were only for Diamond members, then once we asked her to confirm she told us that the beverages we ordered from the bar could not be covered by that credit. When I explained we had those beverages covered at other Hilton hotels, and again asked her to confirm, she became rude and condescending, telling me she worked at the doubletree too and it wasn’t possible. Limitations on food and beverage credit, if they exist, should be disclosed at check in. Overall, we felt unwelcome, dismissed because we were not Diamond members, and without any options. When I said I would be leaving a review she said in a snarky tone, “You go ahead and do that.” Will not stay here again, and very disappointed. This could have been handled politely and respectfully with the same outcome and it would not be an issue. This was not our experience in Arkansas, everyone else we encountered was extremely friendly and welcoming - just not the staff at...
Read moreDisappointed. Front desk in the morning has a major attitude issue. Short tempered, catty and dismissive. The ladies in the morning savana and Evelyn were so rude and nasty. They act like you’re an issue no matter what your questions may be. The night time ladies were fantastic! Makayla (spelling) was an outstanding bright soul along with the gentleman at nights.
Rooms were okay, a bit outdated, no smart tvs and poor lighting, otherwise fine. The restaurant only has two servers in the morning. The Mary lady had a nasty attitude with some folks seated next to us and it was embarrassing to them and to the rest of us seated near this table. I almost reached out and offered to cover their tab, you could tell the mother was almost in tears after getting yelled at like a dog. The other lady was nice, but she kept having to pick up the slack. She seemed sweet and super energetic. My kids loved her.
We came back later in the day to get drinks, the bar is poorly stocked and the menus were lacking. No recommendations or suggestions for pairing. There’s a massive rotten egg odor that looms near the bar, so don’t come at night with an appetite. We went to walk-ons, they have every thing you’ll need in a bar.
This place also has very misleading information on what perks you’ll be able to access with your rewards points or level. So don’t bother asking because they will just tell you to look online.
I’m definitely not staying here anymore, it’s grimy and you can tell the staff has a lot of behind the...
