Updating this as the actual review did not get saved properly. Tried to stay here in August of '23. Purchased the room through Expedia. Walked in close to midnight. Right away, the staff was cold and unwelcoming, but I figured they were just tired. Fair enough, they're probably not paid enough to smile. One of them was wearing a shirt with another hotel's logo, but that's between them and the corporate. But then they requested $50.00. I was very surprised and said I already paid for the room. They refused to give any explanation and kept saying "Talk to Expedia about it" and "if you want the room, you have to pay this amount." The tone was very condescending, like a parent to a toddler. Finally, they said it was the deposit. That made sense, but why not say so right away? They acted like the very fact that I asked a question was an insult to them. Have I not paid for the room already I would have walked out and that moment. Finally, they put my credit card through and gave me a tablet to sign for the transaction. The amount on the tablet was different and did not much either the $50 or the amount I paid to Expedia. It said nothing about the deposit, there was a rate for the room and I was supposed to sign an agreement to pay that rate. They refused to give me any kind of paper invoice. So I decided to just take a picture, with my phone, of what I was signing. They pulled the tablet away from me and said I could not stay with them and was asking too many questions. I reminded them that the room was paid for, they said they did not care and I could contact Expedia about it. So I stayed in their lobby for the next half an hour, on the phone with Expedia, because I did not want them to claim that I did not show up and it was my fault. The experience left me so buffled that I could not even be angry. Who gets mad at the customer for asking "What am I paying for?" Why be rude rather than answer a simple question, and what is their beef with Expedia? What were they trying to do and what was a big secret about that invoice they would not let me have or photograph? Based on some Expedia reviews, others has similar experience when "asking questions". Cannot comment on the rooms or cleanliness for obvious reasons. There is at least half a dozen hotels in the same price range within a 5 miles area. Some were willing to give a discount when one comes in after midnight. Read moreThis is the 4th time I have stayed here. I regularly travel I -75 and the first time I stayed here about4 years ago it appears that a family bought this place and it was a little rundown. I watched the progress of the family doing their best to update the hotel. All the rooms are really nice they replaced everything with new appliances and beds, flooring. When I say everything I mean everything. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This place is a no joke because they have done so much for the better. One of the reason’s I pick places like this is because you have doors to your room on the outside. Nice. Reminds me of a private hotel of the past. Rooms are very clean and comfortable microwave and fridge inside every room and very extensive TV selection. . Looks like all the sheets and pillows are new and they bought the best kind. They also have a really nice ice machine on the exterior in a side room to stock up with ice. Cool. Really nice place to stop. Prices are really good. Good place good people. I really hope they prosper because they don’t mess around.Bathroom sink’s are new. With new countertops. New everything. They are smart to include pets as it’s a nice place to include them because plenty of poping area. They also have a nice big ice machine. Plenty of ice for your trip Across from I 75 bridge from here is a nice marathon gas station with everything. Big place with all kinds of food and food. Beer too. Read moreTerrible ownership and management. They didn't bother to inform anyone until I called them that they had made an additional charge to my card without my signature or authorization. Owner and or manager refuse to talk and just hang up.
Staff member also kept money from a purchase. Either accidentally or on purpose but when questioned, they are to busy on personal calls or hang up.
They also claim deposit refundable but despite the room inspection being done and told all good, the deposit charge is showing but the return of deposit isn't even showing as pending. Staff member said it wasn't returned and manager or owner refuses to speak to customer.
Long list of issues with the rooms including as another person wrote, smelled like smoke and itchy when laying in the beds.
So, to the reply of the owner.... How did you do an investigation when you never spoke to the customer? Why would your staff hang up when concerns brought to their attention and customers ask to speak with you?
Best Western should drop this hotel for there bad business practices!
Many of the reviews do NOT accurately reflect the actual hotel but our issue is how they hang up on customers when ask for owner or manager regarding the concern of the charges and money.
The review is 100% accurate and as of now, the owner still has withheld the deposit and now spoken to the customer. So, his reply is completely false! If he ever does the right thing and talks to the customer to fix the issues, I will be sure to update this review...
