I have travel the whole country (45 states) and I have never ever written a negative review but this place does not have hospitality for families. They treated us like we were never welcomed. In the morning they didnât even come to us they charged us additional because they said we apparently had too much people which doesnât state anywhere on their signs or in there policy manual, nor the handbook with picked up from them with the rules n guidelines stated. Instead of them refunding us they said we had 13 mins to leave for check out, then said 12 mins an min later after we waited 10 mins for there manager just to tell us that. Not showing us any reason for why they could extra charge instead of accepting what they did was unjust they deviated to kick us out. We had only one rig (skoolie) which followed the guidelines & Manuel. And an tent which was for the kid to have space. They said they could charge us for the tent but also doesnât state it in the manual. Instead of them communicating properly they threaten to make us leave without an timely matter. We had 2 babies and a few kids. We were being peaceful and respectful. We played music as we cooked our food and waved and gave peace signs to everyone passing by. The campground staff knew they were in the wrong and instead of apologizing they got their feelings hurt and decided to put their frustrations on us because we did no wrong. The original lady we spoke with said itâs in the handbook and said itâs under #2 and we read it then out loud to her and it does not state we were breaking any rules. We said is this bad business and she said maybe it is bad business. We waited on manager and she came with an attitude and said if yâall get packed up in 13 mins then we will refund you and she said with an sassy voice you have 12 mins left to pack and we will refund the additional charge, but it doesnât look like yâall be able to, and k said how do you know that, you donât know us, weâre quick. We gave them peace signs n heart and love kisses but they decided to just call the cops. We packed up in time but they had an cop at the gate waiting and he actually let us go because he knew the campground at Forsyth was being unright, unjust, unfriendly, and being petty wasting everyone times. The lady in the red hat is the manager. The campground is fine but the staff & workers treated us so unkind and definitely donât let your friends and family be treated...
Read moreMy family and I looked forward to our stay at this KOA given our experience at other KOAs had been great. However, this stay was FAR FROM ENJOYABLE . To start, the two older male employees made my teenage daughters feel very uncomfortable. Multiple times both daughters, myself and husband saw them watching the girls at the pool from outside the rales. The pool steps were slippery with mildew. The area around the pool and the siding of the pool has tons of cracks and is not smooth, very hazardous. Next, the bathroom near the pool, where the employees smoke, made it hard to breathe to walk pass. We walked into the bathroom and walked right out. It was absolutely disgusting. Given the pool was not safe to use, my daughters decided to try out the cable and Wi-Fi, as advertised on their site. Well, I was told the cable was disconnected, and the Wi-Fi âout at the moment.â There were two âpower outagesâ in our 3 day stay, which in turn meant our AC was off for hours at a time in the 98-100 degree weather. This was brought to the front office attention and I was told pretty much deal with it for now. At night we would smell the worse smells ( marijuana), and witness drugs/ alcohol being used by two of the employees. As aforementioned, these concerns were brought to the front office staff/ management, and nothing was addressed nor apologizes were given. Honestly, several of the employees live onsite and protect each other when it comes to discussing/correcting the issues. You get a Cult like vibe from this group of people that work here. The manager lives in a double-wide in this camp ground. It is very unkept and tons of broken down/ old equipment fills up her yard and all around it. It is a hazardous place. I would be concern for kids to ride bikes, etc in here given the mess around her place; as well as, The playground is nonfunctional. Overall, the only decent thing this park has or offers is the pizza. Otherwise, I wouldnât recommend wasting your money on this poorly managed and unkept campground.||So, with us having a week reservation we decided after three days to end our stay early and travel 12 miles north to the KOA in Griffin; This was the best decision we made. It was as we had expected from a KOA park- great experience. We enjoyed our days in the...
Read moreThese people man! I show up from my reservation and check in it went ok. The desk lady did go on and on though I just wanted to see the site then I was doing a paddle board full moon float. So I go to leave and they stop me at the front gate and ask me to come in and I explained I had to leave. The lady said hold on and then kept talking on phone to somebody else. I was like I have to leave in doinga full moon float and in needed to be there at a certain time! Finally I told her I had to leave and she waved me off. I figured they would call me and let me know what the problem was but they didn't so I called them. They said "We're sorry we can't let buses stay here." I'm two hours away from home I'm not planning on returning until after midnight. So they turned me out on the street. Because it is a bus. I don't understand what the difference is and why it would matter if it was a bus. Nowhere on the website doesn't say that they don't allow buses so I didn't think it was a big deal but they still turned me away. So lame!! And now I think about it if I had not called would they then turn me away at midnight in the middle of no where. Luckily the Chris at the outstanding Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions (whom I had never met) allowed me to stay on their property! I would give Ocmulgee Outdoor Expeditions 100â!||||P.s. I have stayed at many KOAs and I always press the van button because there is no bus button and no other one had a problem with it. Multiple places I did the exact same check in process with no issues.||||If they were decent human beings they could have let me stay the night instead of turning me out on the street and then explaining to me like this is a one-time thing we can't do this that would have been perfectly acceptable.||||Additionally I have read some other reviews and people are saying that they are racist so yikes! I'm wondering if that's part of the issue as I am not...
