This place is a disappointment. I've waited a week to write this review so that I cauld cool off. Either way, there is no way to make it less brutal.||In late spring of 2024 when we planned our trip, we were not able to make reservations online. I called and was told the hotel was under renovation and they were not taking reservations yet for Spring Break 2025. I checked back later in the summer of 2024 and they were able to take reservations. I inquired about the room types. I was told that the only rooms with two beds were in Casa Limpia across the street. This isn't at all true. They are the rooms for "budget travelers" at $315 per night. For that price, you get a room that is the equivalent to a run down Motel 6. Of course, with Indian Lodge still being closed for renovation, there wasn't much choice in Fort Davis. ||When we arrived, the desk reception was rude and dismissed my request to change buildings. Obviously they were full, and that's ok. But be courteous about it.||We parked on the street and unloaded our things into our room, #42. The carpet had embedded sticker burrs in it, so forget about walking around in the room barefoot. There were only two towels, so I went and requested one more towel because we are a family of 3. They did not have any, but would bring us one. That's fine. An hour later we were brought a wet towel. A soaking wet towel! I questioned the person that brought it to me, why it was wet. "You can hang it up to dry" was the response. Really???? I said "No! I want a dry towel!" Which we received a couple of hours later. Being brought a wet towel and told to hang it up was a first for me!||The next day our room was kind of cleaned. They made one bed, but not the other, and took the third towel away. I went to the desk to ask for another towel, and no one was there. I just happened to see cleaner outside, and was give a towel with holes in it. At least it wasn't wet. The next day, our room wasn't even cleaned at all.||We have stayed at The Gage and Paisano on prior trips, and the El Capitan on this trip. We were under the impression that we would receive a similar experience at Hotel Limpia. NOT SO! This place doesn't even know how to "hotel", nor are they even remotely in the same league as the aforementioned hotels. We paid $100 less a night at El Capitan (visiting GMNP) and had a two bedroom suite! And it was amazing.||As bad as our experience, the family checking in behind us also had booked a room with two beds and were given a room with one bed and a cot. I guess we got the last room with two beds.||Buyer beware if you are staying here!!! Not enough thumbs down.||Now for the Blue Mountain Bistro. For everything the hotel does wrong, the restaurant gets right. While the menu choices are not many, they had a good special the two nights we ate there, that were really good. They have a good bar and a decent wine list. The waitstaff was good, and attentive. We enjoyed our two meals here and would return to eat. ||So go eat at the Blue Mountain, but stay...

Read moreI love old historic places and rented a two bedroom suite for 4 adults but was not impressed. I would not recommend this hotel. The historic building and grounds were old, reasonably well maintained and nice but everything inside the suite was also old, not maintained, worn-out, in need of replacement, etc. from the carpet, beds, TV, etc.. The carpet was coming apart at each seam and was an immediate turnoff when you opened the door. The beds were uncomfortable, the rollways were both uncomfortable and so noisy that you could not sleep on them. Taking a shower was a joke. One was smaller than the showers found on a boat with missing grout was overtaken with mold and the second was in an old claw tub where the repainting was peeling and was too slippery to risk a shower and too awful to sit in for a bath. The hot water dribbled out and that was when only one faucet was on at a time. Don't consider using both baths at the same time. The TV had to be decades old. Tried to watch Golf but you couldn't find the ball or see the score because of the TV snow was so bad. The air conditioning was not balanced between rooms and fluctuated in temperature throughout the night enough to wake you off and on throughout the night. There are many historical accommodations available in the area and would recommend you try one of the others.
Also apparently I made a mistake on the reservation and had a checkout for one day late. Normally this would not be a big deal as you always go over the dates at check-in. But not here.... they did not mention the reservation dates and the number of nights in the stay at check-n... so I was unaware of the problem until checkout. At check-out they said I was supposed to be staying another night. I told them that no I had always intended to checkout on Sunday. She told me it was not a problem and she would refund the last night, which apparently had already been charged to me card. So we went on as planned and drove 9 hours home. The next day I noticed that I had not received email as promised and in-fact had no email or phone call from the hotel. So I called to follow-up. Now after the fact she changed her mind and told me that I would have to pay for the extra night. Of course I now did not have the option of discussing the problem with my travel group and making a decision about what we wanted to do since she had not given me that option. I left there with a clear agreement and understanding of how that mistake was to be resolved and after returning home learned that in fact she unilaterally changed her mind and had not even bothered to pickup a phone to let me know.
Overall this is not the kind of place I would chose to stay again and recommend others consider the options before...
