I stayed at the TownePlace Suites Fort Lauderdale West for the first time and was very impressed by how nice the property looked. I saw older photos and realized the hotel was recently renovated.||At Check-In, I had the pleasure of working with Miss Lackaya. She was so nice! We were welcomed very nicely as she had checked-in my partner's mother earlier that day and was aware of our arrival.||My other interaction with the front desk was with Maria, who helped me get a 2pm late checkout which I had requested a day after check-in. It helped me out a lot with having enough time to spend with my partner's family after his grandmother's funeral and it was greatly appreciated!||The Studio Queen room we got was very spacious. I was definitely impressed that there was an oven in the room. Other Residence Inns and TownePlace Suites I've stayed at did not have this amenity, so I was very glad to see it and have kept it in mind for a future stay for situations where I may want to save some money and bringing back an oven-baked pizza to my room. I really like how the room had an L-sofa, table, a desk. The TV was adjustable and looked like it was easy to connect other HDMI devices to. The bathroom was very spacious and modern-looking. The only complaints I really had for the room was that there was a crack in the coffee pot that caused coffee to spill out everytime it's poured, an ice tray was cracked which caused water to leak, and that there was no ice maker in the freezer. However, there is an ice machine on the first floor of the building which remedies the ice maker problem. Other than that, the renovated rooms for this hotel is pretty amazing and we very clean!||Amenities:||This hotel has a nice small gym, small pool, and an outdoor barbecue patio area. I didn't use either, but they were there for all guests to use and gave me the impression that this hotel certainly offers a little bit of everything.||Breakfast:||The breakfast area was rather tiny, but the selections were alright. Compared to other TownePlace Suites and Residence Inns, it certainly lacks food items like Bacon, Spinach, and other food/drink items that I'd see at other extended stay properties within the Marriott family, but there was still a somewhat wide selection of foods and drinks to choose from. However, I did appreciate the selection of sauces like Gochujang Korean chili paste which goes great with eggs! The Orange and Apple juice machine was broken one morning, but it was really good to see another employee and Ms. Lackaya working on getting it fixed. A big and simple improvement that could be made in the breakfast dining area is possibly adding a second waffle maker? This seems to be what backs the line up for people getting breakfast. There's already a double and single toaster in the room for 3 people to use at the same time. I imagine a 2nd waffle maker will get the lines in the room moving a little faster.||Overall, definitely a 5-Star stay at the TownePlace Suites Fort Lauderdale West! I had little to no complaints. The newly-renovated rooms blew my partner and I away! Affordable rates, and definitely a hidden gem in the Fort Lauderdale area. Will definitely consider staying at this property...

Read moreThis is an absolute amazing hotel. I have stayed in all types of hotels, from 1 to 5 stars, from budget hotels to 5 star palaces. All have their perks and all have their bad points and most of the time, you get what you paid for. But this place is perfection across the board. Staff is super, super nice, all of them. Even the grumpy looking garbage guy will still crack a smile and say hello in passing, very polite, very pleasant. The breakfast, the wifi, the pool, the parking, the safe, quite location (yet close to everything), the lobby, store.... all great. The rooms? Imagine a studio apartment on the upper west side of NYC, clean, beautifully decorated, surprisingly spacious. The kitchen's have granite countertops, fully loaded with 4-burner stove top, oven, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, full fridge and freezer, even a dishwasher. They provided even palmolive dishsoap and soap for the dishwasher. Pots, pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, everything. A queen size bed had plush, CLEAN, great smelling linens. Bathroom was clean all around. Really, really hard to find a single corner that wasn't spotless in the entire room. Large soaking tub, fresh towels. Large closet almost big enough to be considered a walk-in. A fantastic, large work desk with separate work light, power outlets for my electronics, storage cabinets and drawers and what initially looks like a slide out drawer for the keyboard is actually a completely separate table on wheels that slides out and can be place anywhere in the room. We used it as the dinner table for our family meals or for an extra workspace for the kids to play or color on while I still had the entire work desk to myself. The sleeper sofa was comfortable and clean including when we pulled it out to reveal a comfortable sofa bed. Paired up with a rolling ottoman and even a little sofa table you can move around was a nice feature in the room. Thermometer and AC unit worked flawlessly. Housekeeping was perfect. Came around every day and was ready to do anything and everything I asked... and with a smile. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel chain. I will absolutely recommend them to everyone and I will certainly stay in TownePlace...
