Free wifi... technically. the wifi is severely throttled to between 125MB/s and 250MB/s when it is working. In the evening you wont get a very good signal at all. I got kicked off every five minutes after three in the afternoon and around five it simply does not work at all. The wifi is faster than a mobile network but not by much at all. You CAN pay for faster wifi but if you are getting kicked off with the SLOW speeds i imagine the fast speeds will still lead to you getting kicked off and not being able to use the wifi at all in the evenings as well. I stayed for 8 days. The first day i informed the hotel that the lamp was broken so only HALF the light in the room worked. (it was always dark because of this. also the bulb is wired directly to the wall otherwise i would have just got a bulb myself) 3rd day the maintnence man comes and tells me around a third of the rooms have the SAME ISSUE and the parts are on back order. He would return the next day with a replacement part so we would have light. (i would just remove that stupid maintnence nightmare and simply install a "LAMP" but thats just me.) ... he never came back with a part. All the other hotels i have stayed in have the cleaning personnel come around daily to make sure you have things like towels and expendable stuff like toilet paper. Here they come around once every seven days. The shower worked. The shower curtain is on a straight rod that is attached too far inside the shower. This leads to you having to make an awkward choice if you decide you want to take a shower. let the curtain hang inside the shower and attempt to clean yourself while wrapped in the hotels wonderful shower curtain, or, push the curtain outside the shower and SOAK the bathroom floor. I opted for the latter because having the clingy cold shower curtain wrapped around my body while i tried to bathe was potentially dangerous and i don't know how often they clean these things. Good news: the police are permanently parked in the front of this building AT ALL TIMES. so if you need some kind of issue that a cop could help with they are right there. Free cable... technically. They have a FEW basic cable stations. not enough to advertise that they have cable. The television you get to watch it on is a wonderful antique piece from the 1980's that is on the absolute edge of not working at all. The cabinet doors were carefully placed in front of the cabinet so they appeared attached when you first entered the room. any attempt at USING a cabinet lead to the removal of the door entirely. The room had a tiny refrigerator. the door of the refrigerator had all of the rails to the shelving removed so if you placed anything on the door and opened it you would have to put it back every single time you opened the door. the toilet paper holder was absolutely fieced. NOTHING was 100% clean. The good news is that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLol. The woman who checked me in, lovely,. Felicia. So check in was fine. Rooms, basic , . straight like that. Like you getting what you pay for, can't say much, I didn't expect much anyways, so like yeah. Cold shower that sucked. Decent size thought. I called to extend as I leave before front desk opens. The woman picked up the phone and I ask who was I speaking with, instead of answering, she defensively asked "who dis who are you like" WOW. I HAD to be at work early so I figured shouldn't be an issue... Now, She says with hesitation, uhm yeah like we booked, everything aight..uh rooms are booked, she came even. Uhm, ok. She must hate her job. I didn't leave reviews, is a damn extended stay and I haven't seen a working PRO IN YEARS, LITERALLY saw a obvious " working girl" standing there and some men not far off. I was afraid for my safety, period . But I got me so, don't run up. I was unable to access with their flawed keys. That employee, this being a franchise, and me, v being a " guest" , she should take some training in hospitality. That is a legit degree , This is a franchise and very obvious they don't treat their employees well. Coming to work in a bonnet. If you seem to align as proper or square, don't go there. They seem to cater to a different demographic here bc never in my life have I encountered an employee who took offense to you asking " who I'm speaking with. ...I can book online with no problem, but this employee, couldn't book to avoid me having to go back, leave work, gather my things. First time there and guess will be my last. Everyone complaining about the standard like you're not at the Hilton. I was thankful to see a stove, a full fridge, table. I didn't see bugs...I was on first floor, Ice cold ac, and little dressers where i was able to put my things. I am going to say if the employee wasn't so nasty, I would have probably recommended this place. I'm sure there's plenty other extended stays around. so I'm REALIST, I was expecting worse wasn't a place I'd stay at for a vacation/luxury experience. FOR ME AND MY SITUATION, it served purpose. To get clean and rest,it was ehhh. . So I'm leaving work to go check out , whatever. Let's see how that goes. I'll update the employees name when I contact...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreQuick summary: the negative reviews are all true. Bad neighborhood, run down property, loud tenants, poor service, roaches, no hot water, TV had no service.
Sincerely, Red Roof Management RediResponse Specialist {DO NOT ADD A COOKIE CUTTER RESPONSE TO THIS REVIEW LIKE THE OTHERS} Id rather you just not respond at all. You can't fix this. And you do not appreciate my feedback and will not like it. But I understand that it looks good to add a response to these, to show possible action. Yet the times on your reviews stretch for a while with constant results.
Now, A first glance summed up what I thought was the likely outcome of our stay. I looked at reviews and my assumptions were reinforced. My experience confirmed. The place didn't look appealing when you get there. The key cards didn't work. Then I checked the TV and it wasn't receiving a signal. Had to call for help on both issues. The door was opened by a guy who came up and used a drill on the lock. Then it opened. Made me think he reset it to easily be opened by any card used. Can't confirm that though. The TV couldn't be fixed or replaced. Was told they were having issues and we would receive a discount. Issue probably not paying their bill and I have to wait to see if they honor a discount when we check out tomorrow a day earlier than they expected. The sink and shower had no hot water at all. Then the notorious roaches šŖ³ I read about started to come out and play in the night. And there are people that call these rooms home and are loud. Working on their loud cars in the parking lot. The door to the room had no seals around it. I could see a clear outline of the light from outside glowing all around it. Large enough for any bugs to just crawl in.
Now I would not have stayed here if it was just me or if I'd had paid for it. My mother found this place and she focuses on price when I scrutinize the reviews hardcore before my money...
