Sushi To Go — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

Stopped by to grab some to go , and saw the rating was high and now I know why. I have a thing with restaurants that will have specials posted on the wall or written on a board , it lets me know they're growing as restaurant and open to ideas or willing to try new things, and that is one of the first things you'll see when you walk in. They'll have them posted on the wall where you can see. They also have a lot of pictures on the wall to show you what they're menu items look like. I love that everything on the menu isn't over priced! Great for it's quality of the food and quantity. The atmosphere kind of takes me back to a NY/NJ Sushi spot and you just know that if it looked like this, the food was gonna be great. They served all the popular rolls and they do have rice dishes like katsu and they have takoyaki which is something we are always ordering. I wasn't really sure about this place at first but I went with the reviews and they were all right! This place is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is well priced, fresh, and we'll prepared. Big thanks to the staff who were nice enough to switch some items out after they already prepared my dish. I am allergic to shrimp but forgot to mention before hand and when I realized one piece in my combo was shrimp based I asked to confirm and they were kind enough to swap that for a salmon piece. We have been getting sushi here for 7 years and the last 3 times I've ordered here, nothing is fresh. It's got a strong fish smell inside, never used to. And the fish also tastes VERY fishy, even leaves a lingering smell on my fingers. What could have changed? I am curious, how a restaurant cant go from fresh quality and taste to awful fish stank. Same owners. Do they source from a new buyer? Could they have lost refrigeration efficiency? I will not eat there anymore after 3 for 3 bad attempts over the last 4 - 5 months.
