Having stayed at Seaside in 2008, I thought I'd give it another shot. I called ahead of time to ensure the heated pool was working and functional. I was assured by the manager (Monica) that it was. Unfortunately, for our 7 day trip, it was only working for 1 of the 7 days. All other days, it was frigid water, around 68-72 degrees, which made it completely un-swimmable.
I spoke to other residents that were near the pool deck and all of them agreed that this was extremely cold and not tolerable. After calling to report this to the manager, she became extremely rude and snippy with me, even asking me, “Well, what did you come to Florida for… the pool or the beach? Did you really think your price for the resort includes a heated pool?” I couldn’t believe how rude she was.
Ok, let’s talk about the resort itself… the check in process was quite frustrating as the manager was all over the place and kept giving me wrong information and didn’t let me know how to access the pool gate, elevator, etc…
When I went to check in, the room reeked of bleach as if the cleaning staff had doused it in the stuff. It took hours for the smell to dissipate. The rooms are very old and tiny/cramped. The shower frames are coming off the hinges and the master shower water doesn’t even permit a hot temperature. The bathrooms are so small and tight that you can hardly fit in there. The room smelled musty as well. The master bed was like an old beat up cushion. It killed my back! The elevator to get up to the room (we were on the 3rd flood) was very old and rickety and took forever to go anywhere… if you tried to take the states, you would risk your health as they were extremely slippery and you had to nearly tip-tow down.
When I called after our trip to report these frustrations, the manager continued to be very sarcastic and rude to me and then hung up. Having vacationed down in Ft. Myers Beach for 20 years, I know lots of places and I would never stay here again. Overpriced, doesn’t deliver on promised amenities and is very old. Save your money and vacation and stay...
Read moreThis was my husband and I first time in Ft Myers. Initially, booked a room at a different resort much closer to where all the activities take place. After hearing from a few personal friends who have been there stating that many younger adults stay there and that’s the party spot (which is fine) but we were looking for a more relaxed getaway vs the party seen. I am so happy I cancelled and booked at Seaside Condos, approx 2 miles down the beach. I can’t say enough great things about this place!! Beautiful, well kept and secure condo complex steps away from the beach and a short trolley or Uber ride down to where all the restaurants, shops, bars and activities are, yet far enough away to quiet, peaceful tranquility. We had the best of both worlds!! Loved waking up to palm tree and ocean views every morning while eating breakfast on our balcony||Monica in the office was absolutely wonderful!! She will make sure your stay is top notch! ||Ohhh and I forgot to mention there is a grocery store directly across the street which makes for a huge convenience!!||Condo was equipped with everything you need for cooking, eating utensils l, to beach chairs and sand toys. Definitely the best vacation I’ve had since my honeymoon in Hawaii 23 years ago!! ||We will definitely be back!! ||Thank you Seaside...
Read moreWe stayed at Seaside 410 and it was amazing. We loved having an end unit to enjoy a lanai with both frontal and side screen that was great for coastal breeze. The decor was beautiful and furniture was very comfortable. We also loved sleeping on the king size mattress. My husband actually wanted to know what brand as it was so comfortable. All rooms had ceiling fans (with remotes). The kitchen was very pretty and was nice to cook some of our meals of the week we were there. The kitchen was equipped with very nice pans and utensils. The bedding was soft and aesthetically pleasing. We loved that the unit supplied beach towels for the pool/ocean and had a nice towel rack on the lanai. We loved being up higher and on one end of the condo as we didn’t have traffic walking by our door because when we were in our condo we chose to keep the door open and take advantage of the storm door as to allow some sunlight in on the roadside of the condo. The Seaside Resort has a wonderful inground pool with lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. We even enjoyed using the pool noodles they had on hand and enjoyed a few games of shuffleboard. We were very thankful for the elevator for convenience as my 83 year old mother traveled with us . Overall we loved our stay and will definitely coming back for...
