Tropical Sands Resort — Hotel in Fort Myers Beach

Really needs to be zero stars. Just got back home from staying there a week and the 4th night we were there I got beat up in the pool area. The night before many people called about very loud group in the pool at 1am in the morning, condo stated there was nothing they can do about call the police. So very next night the same group was out the partying again making lots of noise so my wife called the police. She then woke me up other vacationers were telling the group to be quite and then the group starting yelling back at them and cursing at them. So I went out to the pool to tell them to keep it down and after doing so the entire group jumps out the pool and starts hitting my wife and I. The cops were already called 30 minutes prior to this and were still not there. So after about 7 minutes of getting beat up by 4-5 individuals some other residents broke it up. Cops eventually show up arrest 2 of the people. The next day the same people start trouble again at the pool during the day, finally the resorts kicks the people out. After all this was said and done Tropical Sands had the police report an they never reached out to us to make sure we were ok or anything. I plan on sending them all my hospital bills and filling a law suit. I have been an owner for 38 years and never will I come here again. Lynn, manager, was the most helpful I've seen from any resort manager. Helped with eating places, beach access, offered us a free beach umbrella, and was eager to help us and others. She is great. I think all rooms are two bedroom, so the two of us had lots of room. And TWO bathrooms. Everything worked in kitchen, place super clean except for the floor which I can understand.There was no dirt but it's hard not to have some floors totally clean. I noticed my white sox got dirty when I walked on the floors. Even though they were dirt free, maybe a wet serious scrubbing would help remove that surface dirt. But we found this at other resorts as well. It's hard to keep floors "hospital clean". No complaints, just an observation. Had to wear slippers or something, couldn't go white sox barefoot. Location is perfect, 8 minutes from downtown for food and outdoor eating places and water restaurants. Our pool was perfect, clean and nice. Pool furniture always clean. There are two elevators if you are on second or third floor, nice. The resort has a new color look, teal and another color, very nice. RCI photos are too old, not good for the resort image. We enjoyed seeing it brighter and nice with the new paint. Please change your photos. Our next trip to FMBeach will be at this same resort. Let me start by saying that the rooms are nice and the prices are very good. We go on vacation every year in Florida and this was the worst by far. There was some type of bugs that ate myself and my kids up. I was told that the bugs are all over Florida every year and that they couldn't do anything about it. Which this is the first year we have had this problem. I was told that the beach was a short walk which turned out to be almost a quarter mile walk. Then to top it all off when we left I forgot my watch on the window seal in the master bedroom. When I noticed that I had left it my wife called that evening and was told that there was no watch found and that I was mistaken that I most of packed it in my things. . A watch is not something that is packed in luggage. The only reason it took so long for me to realize that I was missing the watch is because my kids had gotten sick so I was trying to take care of them. We called back on Monday to see if they had found it and was told that there was nothing to do and to leave them alone about the watch and to get over it and get a life out was just a watch. It just seemed very unprofessional and with it only being the second time calling. I understand that some people dont value things like others but to not even check or ask your staff is beyond me.
