A dream wedding at a budget. That was our mission. A beautiful forest backdrop, outside venue, variety of spots for photos, and most importantly the flexibility to design the wedding we wanted. The Cabins on Strawberry Hill met us all the way and then much more. Rick and Jay (the owners) started their business with the right mission in mind. They give their all to ensure that every guest feels exceptional and has ample opportunity to make the most of their experience. Most importantly they are available to assist, to give feedback and recommendations, and provide services needed (and even those services not noticed).
We had planned to find a venue that could; provide a beautiful backdrop of the lush forest, could provide for an open/outdoor wedding, had ample services/vendor options, was closed or made private, gave us a lot of time (i.e. more than 3 hours), allowed us to design the wedding, and could accommodate guests staying onsite or nearby. In Arizona there are relatively few options for forest backdrop venues. Those with the options take full advantage with enormous price packages, limited services and event length, and many restrictions.
The morning we found the Cabins. One morning we set out to go to one such location typical venue in Flagstaff. On way we decided to check out this cabin location that had great reviews and decent wedding pictures on the website. To get to the point, oh my goodness. We fell in love with the location and the owners within an instant. On the way up to Flagstaff, my wife and I stated, this next place has a mountain to scale in order to ‘one up’ Cabins on Strawberry Hill. As we suspected, and hoped to some degree, the Flagstaff location bombed and we drove back down to Cabins on Strawberry Hill (Cabins) to make our reservation.
The owners were extremely helpful in arranging our dates which after a week had to be changed (that was no problem for them, very accommodating). Cabins provided us a list of recommended vendors for catering. We chose Susie’s Q, the absolutely best choice! We arranged for a DJ, photo-booth, and had a close friend design the wedding, a family member who did the photography, and my wife the baker made the cake. As stated before, it was paramount that we were allowed to design the wedding to our liking, no exceptions. Hence in major part why we chose Cabins. We were told to visit the property as need (with a courtesy email/call prior to the visit) so we could outline the designs and share those with the Cabins. The folks at the Cabins were playing on our team. In the end the entire property turned into our fantasy wedding. Okay, so we went over a little on budget but that little made for an incredible experience, rather than an upgraded meal option.
Cabins is managed and operated by two brothers whereas all the venues we visited in Prescott, Flagstaff, Payson, Sedona, Florence, Phoenix, Scottsdale are operated by a few dozen to a few hundred staff, and yet only at the Cabins could we have our dream wedding at price tag far more reasonable than the others. It was about our experience. For us to have the most beautiful, fun, and forever memorable weekend and wedding of our lives and of those who joined us. That was only possible the Cabins on Strawberry Hill. So to close, how many stars are given? As we rarely do, we give without question five stars.

Read moreMy wife and I got married here in October of last year, so this review is a little bit out of date; however, I believe most of what is in this review still remains true due to the amount of love and work I know the owners put into this place.
If you're starting to plan your wedding and are looking for a gorgeous venue with Forest like charm and whimsy, and rustic undertones then cabins on strawberry Hill is absolutely for you. To give you an idea of how easy it is to fall in love with this venue: we knew we wanted a place where our guests could stay the weekend and still had that forrest feeling. We had our whole list of venues that we wanted to tour and we had spent a lot of time mullng over it and we knew the cabins were the first venue we wanted to go see. The day after we toured the venue, you are so enamored but that's natural beauty and the kindness and attentiveness of its owner and staff that we knew we did not need to tour other venues. And we live almost 300 miles away! In addition to the nature that creates such a warm and welcoming vibe are the wonderfully crafted pergola (which had been recently completed when we scheduled our wedding date) and bar which add tremendous appeal.
The folks who own and work at the cabins on strawberry Hill are all very pleasant and make your job as easy as possible. The first day we visited, they took us on the tour and answered all the questions we had (even the ones my wife had about snakes). They did an incredible job at explaining everything and was very thorough. Leading up to the wedding day, everyone you will come in contact with does a great job at answering questions just as thoroughly. You also not need to worry about what exactly they will need from your vendors if you choose not to use their recommended ones because they will call you as it gets closer to your wedding until you exactly what you need and exactly what to ask for from your vendors. When you arrive before your wedding, they will help you pick exactly where to have your ceremony and reception and will offer the benefits and drawbacks of all of the spots for both. The staff give you a lot of freedom, and are quite flexible with whatever you want to have at your wedding, within reason of course.
The cabins themselves are very accommodating. It's a small layout but it does not feel small when you're in there. You get a TV, internet connection, kitchenette, refrigerator and freezer, bathroom.
We highly recommend this place for anybody who wants a cabin in the woods type of wedding. If we were given the chance to do our wedding over again, we would still pick cabins on strawberry Hill...
Read moreAmazing wedding venue! I can’t say enough positive words about how fantastic the Cabins on Strawberry Hill are. My wife and I found this venue online last year, drove up the next day to visit, and instantly fell in love. Neither one of us wanted a typical hotel-style wedding and we both wanted a venue that could bring all our closest family and friends together in one location – this venue met that and then some! ||||We held our wedding here in early June, 2018 and hosted 50 guests, including kids. All were able to stay in the cabins on site as you get the entire property – 14 cabins total - for the whole weekend. Our guests enjoyed the myriad of activities in the ideal weather (much cooler than Phoenix in June!!!): playground with toys for the kids, basketball, horseshoes, tetherball, ping-pong, badminton, fire pit, BBQ grills, and hiking trails. ||||The owners were a pleasure to work with and super helpful through the entire process – from booking, to planning, to execution - they ensured everything was just perfect. They also give you the flexibility to make the wedding just the way you want – you aren’t stuck with pre-defined vendors, schedules, locations, etc. We actually chose to hire only one vendor, our photographer, and took care of the rest ourselves with the help of family and friends. We had a close friend officiate the ceremony. For the reception we purchased food from nearby Momajoe’s Italian Grill (amazing food that everyone loved), brought our own alcohol and mixers, cake from a bakery in Phoenix, and provided our own speakers/lighting for dancing. The venue provides almost everything else – picnic tables, a dance floor, bistro lighting (which can be strung wherever you want), the bar with bartender, trash service, wedding arch, ceremony chairs, etc. The flexibility they give you to make it YOUR wedding is unparalleled.||||By far the best part through is the grounds themselves. It is simply stunning with several different beautiful locations to hold the ceremony and reception. The big beautiful trees, grassy lawns, and of course the cabins themselves are all picturesque, well taken care of, and add to the relaxing environment. It is truly special to have all of your close friends and family together in one place for an entire weekend. Everyone had a great time and I’m confident will remember this location for...
