We (my husband and I) went to Christopher Creek Lodge as guests of a wedding that was taking place nearby. The location was incredible. Trees of all kinds, beautiful fall leaves falling all around us, crisp Autumn air smelling of pine, and a trickling creek behind our cabin. So take note here folks, the "creek" part of Christopher CREEK Lodge is not some mindless addition to the name... There's an actual creek in play here. The cabin itself was spacious. While there was only 2 of us and a kitten, there was a whole loft part of the cabin with 4 large beds. We used the downstairs king size bed, which was spacious and comfortable. But given the generous amount of beds upstairs, you could have 6-8 people staying with you in a single cabin (check with establishment here on actual occupancy maxes). There's a little kitchen space with a stove, microwave, cups, plates, utensils, a Keurig coffee maker and a few pots and sauce pans in varying sizes. If you need very specific items you should probably ask ahead if they're available, the owner/manager was very friendly and happy to answer questions so don't be shy. A wooden picnic table with benches and lots of seating was situated by a window. There was a heater in the wall, some space heaters, and an wood fire stove. We were warm the entire stay, in fact we had to turn the heaters down at one point as we managed to get the place too hot at night. The hot water was hot, hot, hot on command! I wish my own water heater rocked that hard. Never a cold shower and the water pressure was apparently "fixing problems I've had for years" in my husband's back. The bathroom was a bit small but no complaints here, we weren't trying to throw a party in there or anything. Behind the cabin there were lots of rocking chairs (something I find very comforting and really enjoy as a fidgety person) as well as a bench. There's a grill setup for outdoor grilling. We could watch the creek and grill at the same time if we wanted to. As it was, we simply watched the squirrels put on a show in a bid to get food out of us, and watched some apples from a nearby apple tree (possibly crab apple) fall into the creek. Was fun seeing them bobbing down the creek. All the rules were posted plainly for visitors to see within the cabin, and nothing that was asked of visitors was anything I'd consider to be unfair or unreasonable. As I stated earlier, we brought our kitten with us. The place allows animals for a small extra fee and they have cabins specifically for those with animals. I imagine most people who have pets bring their dogs... We brought our kitten because she's young, I didn't want to leave her, and I wanted to acclimate her to car rides. She LOVED all the new smells and the sights of squirrels. She found lots of places to hide, enjoyed sitting near the space heater, and behaved herself with the property (thankfully). There was a covered trash can right out front too so that when I scooped her litter box, I could just pop it in the covered trash can out front real quick and not worry about stinking up the place. Something others might also find useful for diapers or doggie leavings. There's a fantastic giant wood carved Sasquatch on the grounds and we took a few pics with it. There was also a playground for little kiddos to take advantage of. We're already planning a return trip, and are thinking we should invite our family and have em take all our little nephews and niece with them.. grandma too! It's a great spot to enjoy as a couple on a romantic trip or an adventure with the whole family. I was sad when 11am checkout rolled around. In the morning the autumn leaves fall like rain, the creek trickles pleasantly, and it is a most relaxing, beautiful display. I didn't want to leave and cannot wait to go back. Thanks Christopher Creek Lodge!

This was our 3rd time staying at Christopher Creek Lodge (first stay was the Pony Express and second was one of the Trail Bunks). This time we stayed in Cabin 2. It was cute and cozy and rustic! We stayed 8/4/2023-8/6/2023.

I saw several reviews complaining about dust and bugs and spiders/spiderwebs in the cabins and, yes they do have those, but the cabins are literally wood cabins in the woods, they're not going to be "pristine". The cabin was very clean and had all items that were included in the listing (utensils, tv, etc). Cabin 2 hasn't been renovated yet, but it was still very lovely. The window in the upstairs loft area was stuck open, but there was a screen over it, so no bugs came in and we didn't notice any excess noise and we stayed there as 2 adults with 2 children (5 year old and 2 month old).

The only "downside" to our stay was when we lit a fire in the old fireplace. We had the flue open but the cabin ended up filling with quite a bit of smoke, especially once the fire was starting to go out. We ended up having to open all the windows and stay in our car for a bit (while still monitoring the fire periodically) until it cleared up enough for us to go back in. However, it definitely didn't ruin the experience, and it honestly made sense that it would happen. The fireplace is a very old one, since this cabin hasn't been updated yet like the others have been. It's a beautiful fireplace! But like the staff even told us, it's old and the flue doesn't work completely properly. When I talked with the staff about what happened, they said the best way to prevent that from happening with the old fireplaces is to make sure that both the grate and the duraflame log are pushed all the way to the very back. So now if we stay in Cabin 2, again, we know!

The staff was extremely friendly, including when I mentioned the fireplace (which I wasn't complaining about, I was just letting them know in case they weren't aware of the "issue").

The views are amazing, especially being right by the creek! At times it was a little bit of a bummer being so close to the main road, since loud vehicles sometimes drove by. But it definitely didn't ruin the stay in any way, even when we sat outside on the rocking chairs enjoying the air and the view.

Overall, we had such a wonderful time and were so sad to leave! But we can't wait to stay again! We highly recommend checking out Christopher Creek Lodge, whether it's the Pony Express, Trail Bunks, or one of the Cabins (although I can only personally speak for Cabin 2 from...

2.5 stars. The website says that the cabins have been renovated, which is what we had expected, however, our cabin, C2 was very much NOT remodeled. It was very dusty and lots of cobwebs. It was clear it had not been rented or cleaned in some time. We wanted something a little rustic, but not quite like this. The natural beauty around the facility can not be beat. What the website doesnt tell you is that the cabins back up to the main roadway, so you hear all the buggys/Polaris off-road vehicles speeding by day and night.

As far as the cabin itself goes, the kitchenette was crucial, as there is only 1 or 2 restaurants nearby. With kids we had to cook, so having a fridge was key. That said, the shower head in the shower was broken and sprayed water EVERYWHERE! We eventually took it off and took a shower from a hose. With two kids, it was miserable. Additionally, the window in the upper loft did not close, and was propped open. You can imagine the bugs and ALL the sounds through the window, not to mention the chill at night. Again with two kids sleeping up there, it was less than comfortable. Also, the King bed we had had stains that very much looked like blood streaks, which was unsettling. We put a blanket we had brought from home over the sheets, for what its worth.

The internet is not existent, even though the website says it reaches to all the cabins. Don't bet on it. Bring a hotspot. Again...we have two kids.

We liked the playground. A couple of swings, a play cabin and some rocking toys. It was enough.

There were gas BBQs on the property, but this is not mentioned on the website. I am not sure if you are supposed to use them, but we did. It sure beat charcoal!

Lastly, the office is only open a couple hours a day, and when we did stop by "open" hours the light was on but no one was there. We even waited some time, but no one ever answered the door.

Overall, it was an OK time. It was not quite what we were expected, and we would have liked a real shower for...
