This past weekend, my wife and I took the kids up to Payson and stayed here. We were in Cabin 7, Seventh Heaven, and it was an amazing experience, all around.

To start - the cabin was very roomy, had a full kitchen with dishes we could use, a standard sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, a large kitchen sink, dishwasher, and even a washer/dryer. The bathrooms looked like they were remodeled because their showers were fancier than the ones we have at home. The cabin was nice and cozy - we loved it. Plenty of sleeping, sitting, and eating area. There was also wifi so you can still stay connected if you need to.

Outside, there was this nice walk-around deck that had additional seating, and then right out front of the cabin was even more seating with a picnic style bench, as well as some seats around a nice fire pit. There was also a gas grill for us to use, along with a spatula, scraper, etc. The gas was also provided at no extra cost. One other important feature about this cabin - HOT WATER! I'm telling you - I was betting everyone - "prepare for a cold shower!" Nope - the water was hot - and in almost no time at all as if they had a tankless hot water heater somewhere feeding this place for those of you who know what that's like.

When we arrived that Friday night, the plan was to cook some hot dogs and beans - but after talking with Justin, the on-site manager just to let him know we arrived, he gave me the rundown on all the things that were around the area and available to us - including the on-site restaurant between all the cabins - and the special that day included ribs, corn, elk sausage, and some other goodies - so we tossed the idea of hot dogs and voted to try their food out.

I went over to see what other goodies they had on the menu for the kiddos and was greeted by the nicest lady - I really wish I paid closer attention to her name so I could give her some credit here - but she was great as she listened to my giant order for us and the kids. The cabin was too good to ignore so I got everything to go, but there looked to be plenty of seating and a nice cozy atmosphere at the restaruant as well.

Hands down, the food was fantastic. The special that I was talking about with the ribs and elk sausage - that was amazing. We also ordered their ribeye with loaded baked potato - amazing. My boys ordered the Firehouse chicken sandwich - and they're so dang picky - they couldn't stop talking about it - so much so that I made sure they told Justin how they felt as well. The youngers got some grilled cheese and chicken strips/fries - they don't really offer too many opinions on things unless it's dessert - but they at their food so that says something.

We did some fun stuff around the surrounding area with hiking and what not - there is a nearby creek - Christopher Creek I believe - but we were more about just walking around in the woods - enjoying the fresh air/scenery.

All in all, the staff here were great, the cabins exceeded our expectations for a cabin in the woods, and everyone had a lot of fun. This is certainly a place that I will be staying at again and hopefully for much longer so we can enjoy it a bit more. A weekend trip always feels rushed - but a place like this with all sorts of amenities (dishwasher, washer/dryer) - it would be worth a...

My wife and I got married at Cabins at Creekside in June of 2023. The experience was amazing. we're so glad that we chose Creekside. From the beginning of our first tour, we loved Justin. He was so down to earth and friendly. He made sure we had all the information we needed to make an informed decision. Justin was so welcoming of us and our guests.

On the day of the wedding, things went perfectly! Janet helped us to coordinate the event and made sure that all the details were in place. She was very kind, efficient and easy to work with. We had a delicious smoked meats dinner that the chef knocked out of the park! The table settings were beautiful. The staff did an amazing job on the setup. Justin made sure that all of the guests were comfortable and taken care of. One more exceptional staff member who needs a shout out was Josh. He was so kind, friendly, accommodating and professional. We loved him! Josh and Justin went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had a great experience. From giving tours, to taking pictures, to recommending local hikes, giving rides to elderly family members, providing a complimentary breakfast, telling the history of the cabins, ensuring warm hospitality, and so much more, these guys took great care of everyone. Justin, Josh and Janet were the dream team!

Our guests stayed in cabins that were very cozy and had a real northwoods feel to them. My wife and I got to stay in the nicest camper I've ever been in! It was huge inside and felt like an apartment. The food at the tavern was delicious! We loved the pizza and burgers.

One of the best aspects of the wedding was the setting. Nestled into a ponderosa forest, the venue had a peaceful and natural feeling. Our guests felt relaxed, and were able to experience the unique climate of Christopher Creek. Right before the wedding ceremony started, one of the most magical moments took place. As our guests were being seated, an elk with two calves emerged from the forest. Our guests were awestruck as this majestic creature walked through the wedding site just moments before the ceremony. The site was perfectly decorated enough to be classy, yet minimalistic. The staff executed a beautiful setting for us! My wife and I were appreciative of Josh during the set up. He checked in and made sure that everything was taken care of perfectly, so that we could focus on enjoying the day. He has an eye for detail and did a wonderful job ensuring that everything was perfect.

My personal favorite part of the wedding experience at Creekside was the people. The setting gave us a chance to connect deeply with our loved ones through hiking, bonfires, and enjoying God's beauty outside. It meant so much that Justin and Josh shared so deeply in our joy that weekend! I can't say enough great things about these two gentlemen. They treated us like family. I would highly recommend hosting a wedding at Creekside for the combination of caring staff, beautiful setting, great value, and cozy...

I had great expectations based on previous reviews and photos. I rented the Ridgeview condo this past weekend as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend. I was pretty disappointed upon arrival. I have added photos of the bathroom and the bedroom window. The blinds in the bedroom window were destroyed and not sure whats going on with the window a/c unit. One thing I was looking forward to was being able to open the windows at night. There weren't any screens on the living room windows. I did find them on the roof of the place below us and was able to put one on. In regards to the bathroom, I can see why they didn't have full photos. The renovations were of poor quality/incomplete and the bath towels were dingy yellow, glad we brought our own towels. We had to wash some of the silverware before use. Another issue we had, we heard snoring both nights (all night) from either the garage below or the retreat. That's no fault of the resort, just something else that kept us up all night besides the makeshift bedroom a/c unit not cooling enough & us not being able to open the windows. A few suggestions would be to remove/replace the bedroom blinds, replace towels, fill the holes in the walls & doors, fix the a/c, complete bathroom renovation, post pictures of the entire unit or state the condo is still under renovation. I do recognize the effort of trying to improve and decorate the condo but a little more effort and TLC is needed.

We did have dinner both nights at the Tavern. The staff was extremely friendly and the music and patio was great Sat night. We don't mind paying $16-18 for a burger, as long as it's good. The first night the burger was terrible, 2nd night it was better. The pizza wasn't that great either.

With all this said, we would like to stay again but in the cabins. I was going to rent cabin #6 but choose the condo instead for privacy. I'm pretty sure I made the wrong choice. Overall the resort grounds/location were great, just feel that we didn't get the quality of lodging and food we expected.

Update: General Mgr responded he would reach out to me directly and have yet to hear from him. Just hope they have better follow through with getting this condo in...
