Craziest experience yet :(
We were there staying at Outdoorsy Bayfield for a week and had been parked at night by the owner/worker, Eric. He informed us we were good to go, had enough space with our slide as no one was coming to the spot next to us.
Fast forward, days later. We see a gentleman walking in our campsite pointing at it and shaking his head seemingly upset. Odd to have someone walking in your siteโฆbut we disregarded it. Perhaps the campground overbooked a site?
A while later someone started to bang on our door while we were working. It was the new neighbor who although friendly for two sentences, started to get more aggressive stating we needed to move and upset about our spot placement. Contradicting himself saying โthe park told him to tell us to moveโโฆI told him I did not appreciate his aggression and I will wait to speak to management. I tried to walk away as he continued but it escalated as I walked back into our trailer. He made some inappropriate comments like โfind a safe place tonightโ as I went inside staring me down.
We have no problem moving but the way this was approached was WRONG. Should have been handled by management and no threats should have been made from one customer to the next.
I informed the staff of the comments/interaction right away and they were shocked and said a manager would contact me. They also stated he wouldnโt fit and they would be moving him but we ended up moving over anyway.
The issue was not only our new neighbors aggression but yet how the park handled it, specifically the GM.
The GM arrived at my door even though I requested a phone call and then she demanded confrontation between all parties in order to settle this. We asked to have a conversation in private as we felt uncomfortable with this gent but our request were disregarded three times. I told her the gent had been sitting in a chair basically in our site along the creek all day after this confrontation and I wanted to talk in private with her but she refused. The GM Heather told me we had to have this conversation together as she has heard three stories and they didnโt add up.
I have managed large companies and sure, with your employees you bring them together to have a sit down, but not your paying customers - very childish approach and ambush tactics.
Felt like I was trapped in a bad episode of COPS. There was nothing resolved during this interaction and only further escalated it.
This was a poor way to do business and not how I would handle this situation. Was it expected by the GM that both parties would be honest? Silly and embarrassing to be a part of.
The way this was handled was mismanaged to say the least and to be questioned and treated this way showed the clear disregard of the paying quiet customer who had no issues before this other guest arrived. Even after threats were made. I understand there are two sides but it was obvious by his aggression and I feel the GM could see this, just didnโt care.
We travel full time and have never experienced something like this before with the lack of support and concern for the customer.
This experience went from great to baffling and although we enjoyed our stay up until this point, highly upset that this is how it ended and was handled by the staff.
Our day of work, plans, and vacation all uprooted. We asked to be comped for the day since it had been such an inconvenience to us in so many ways, having to leave and find a safe location, missing work, the emotion etc.
We were told no.
Leaving because we feel unsafe, unsupported, and uncomfortable and that the park Outdoorsy Bayfield does not have our best interest in mind.
Also, the campground highly overlooks these details on their 4 โpremiumโ sites along the creek - they really should have limitations on how big of trailers can fit in these spots such as the guys large fifth...
ย ย ย Read moreMy fiancรฉ and I are in our late 20s and were long term stayers at this RV Park with our two young kids. While the park is beautiful, we were treated horribly on several occasions and I canโt help but feel as though it was because of our age. The older man who is the owner knocked on our door one evening with our water hose in his hand and when I opened the door he threw our hose down in front of him and told me not to use the hookup next to us anymore(bare in mind that no one was even parked next to us and we simply used that hookup to fill our kids pool) .. he then stormed off without letting me say a word and when I did speak he said โTHATS ALL!!โ and for tinged walking. I donโt even think I have been treated that disrespectfully by a person my own age before. As for Joy, the owners wife, she is condescending in how she speaks and itโs funny because I have seen and heard her speak to couples her age or close to her age and the respect they receive is mind blowing compared to how we were treated. As we checked out, I called to pay our last electric bill over the phone and I was told that our card was already ran even though I didnโt give permission to do so and To that I responded โwell I thought I had until 6 to pay because thatโs when your office closesโ and to that Joy replies โwell we closed an hour early because itโs rainingโ
Would have been nice to know beforehand at least that our card was being ran especially since they closed their office early. Not my problem but definitely theirs to let their tenant know the situation... and you guessed it... I was talked to rudely. Terrible place for someone who just wanted to enjoy their summer and be treated like a normal respectable human. If you are young and have tattoos and donโt look like the average person then think twice about this place because youโll probably be judged even though we paid every month on time, never had a noise complaint and minded our...
ย ย ย Read moreI wanted to feel at home and the gals in the office succeeded. The grounds are lovely, the spots are level and spacious. Flickering lights made walkways easy to navigate. Ponds were beautiful. Grass was inviting. But I have never ever been in a louder campground. I may as well have slept on the highway shoulder lane. We have side walls and could not hear each other speak let alone sleep. We were placed in a spot closest to the highway when the campground is not even half full. Not good to woo people in. We were also placed adjacent to 2 trash bins that slammed shut all evening long. It felt like a major low rent district in an otherwise beautiful setting.
Advertised as โon the Riverโ, itโs not the animas or even close. We were fooled thinking we could fly fish at sunset.
Maybe if you sit inside with your AC running and TV blasting this could work. But you wouldnโt want to be โOutdoorsyโ here. And to the very sweet pleasant young lady who kindly escorted us to our site, she should have noticed the construction horns and dust.
Maybe we are just used to being in nature. Disbursed camping wasnโt easy to find, and this did not give us the creature comforts...
