This place is unique. Lots of 5 star reviews but there are some things that could be better. Pros: Nice big hot tub (4 ft deep) Unique layout of house Creek runs right next to house Lots of room to spread out Nostalgic 90s style house complete with DVD and VHS, Xbox, Wii. Lots of towels, games, floaties. Cons: Needs deep clean as there were cobwebs everywhere (looks like they've been there for a while). Oven is filled with grease. Could use an update/remodel Peeling paint Plywood roof for hot tub Sliding door track is bent so door is hard to open/close and would slide open on its own. Overall it was a good experience, however, not sure we'd go back for this price unless it was cleaned better. Especially since they charge a pretty significant cleaning fee.

We rented this for a group for my 55th bday. Had an amazing time. Loved that there was an Alexa for music and wood for the fire. We did get cold the first night because we didn't realize the heat gets turned off between renters. Thought there would be a Waffle maker and a blender but otherwise the amenities were great. All in all a wonderful place to stay. The hot springs pool was by far worth renting this place! Loved the general area with a waterfall just up the road. Deer and big horn sheep everywhere too.

I don't want to leave a good review because I'm afraid we will never be able to go back, once it's booked solid for years at a time. IT'S AMAZING!! COMPLETELY UNBELIEVABLE! Best short-term rental we have ever visited. To have a private spring, the hiking, the night time campfires, the cool house, the amazing four-wheel drive trails ...I could continue.... Simply the best.

The reason I am rating this so low is because of the new owners.

My friends and I have been renting this home for YEARS with no issues, only positive interactions, and a lovely time. I love this place even though it is a bit outdated, it is a lovely location, great soaking, and a wonderful place to convene with far flung friends.

However, last year we rented this house in November (2022). Why post so much later you might ask? I honestly didn't have the energy to deal with this and am not someone that leaves reviews but I felt people should know ...

An unexpected geyser ...

There was a pipe that burst halfway through our stay. It affected our ability to use water at all in the house. Which fine, sh!t happens, but we called the owners immediately when we noticed issues with the water in the morning. At first, the guy tried to say this was normal and there is no issue, blah blah. We finally got them to understand that something was wrong - not sure why it required so much convincing?

Eventually we found the broken pipe by the pool. In the bathroom that was unusable when we were there (they had a sign up).

Due to the contentiousness already in trying to tell them of an issue with THEIR home ... we will leave so it isn't an issue for us really but I would think they would care about this issue? Anyway, due to the tone we were getting already, and the fact that we aren't plumbers, we didn't feel comfortable shutting the water line.

The owners live far away, I understand that. So they finally put us in touch with someone that is their 'maintenance guy'. He comes, confirms the broken pipe, and shuts off the water. Great, now water works in half of the house ... cool, glad that could happen.

The tale of two rando creeps and a pool of nude women ...

Two creepy guys (one was the 'maintenance guy') randomly show up while my friends and I (women) are nude in the pool.We asked them what they are doing there and if they can leave, they mumble something about being told to come check something else, go into the bathroom with the broken pipe for a minute, then leave.

When we told the owner about this and said we should be alerted and give a confirmation that they can come when he asks them to check anything. The owner said they hadn't sent anyone but seemed unconcerned.

This was harassment on the 'maintenance guy's' part. I think when he came and saw it was a bunch of women, he brought his buddy back. I don't know what they were hoping to do but it was messed up. The owners seemed to not care which is messed up and we didn't feel safe. (maybe it was legit but we should have been alerted and we will never really know!)

The owners should have been alarmed regarding this and talking to the creep, ahem I mean 'maintenance guy'. But no, they had no f#cks to give.

Show me the money!

They agreed to pay back $250 to the payment method on file (mine) for the pipe and water issues.

However, nearly a year later I've received nothing.

I contacted them a few times but have heard nothing from them. I think maybe they blacklisted my email and number? In any case, not ok.

The house of partying 40 year olds ... and other hilariously fictional tales ...

Finally, they randomly threw in that we were loud and partying (according to Sir Creep or 'maintenance guys' I assume?) which honestly, we have in the past but we are old now! lol We literally went inside and were watching movies by 9p both nights - they do have a vast nostalgic VHS selection.

Not really sure why they felt the need to say that? Seemed to be trying to suggest we were bad guests in someway so that's why they were treating us badly? Idk it didn't really make sense but was annoying and not true.

Loss of love and innocence ...

It saddens me that this happened as I really loved this place. Hopefully you have a better experience, we did for years. But I felt people should know if something does go wrong, you won't be taken care of and they will lie to you. Also, you might have a couple of creeps show up randomly...

This house was rented by our family for 4 nights. It had 5 bedrooms and 4 baths. The place had had some wear and tear over the years, but was in decent condition. The beds were good and the coverings and towels and supplies generous. The house backs on to a nicely running stream that provides a sort of continuous background white noise effect. There is a fire pit with plentiful dry wood next to the stream. Unfortunately, the steel ring of the fire pit lacks any holes so the airflow, even though the wood is perfect, actually smothers the fire rather than helping it burn. The highlight of the place is the hot springs heated pool under the house. It is cleverly designed a well maintained to keep the water in the mid 90s all the time. It is only 4 feet deep, but we used it multiple times per day. The real downside is the price. Given the uniqueness of the place, I am not surprised it is high, but I think this is a one time experience for us due to the cost. Loved the mountains...
