Above month indicate is actually cancelation month. Have not visited yet. ||My wife and I had to cancel a planned stay roughly 7 months in advance and received an online alert from our credit card co that it was charged a $40 cancelation fee. As anyone knows who rents these wonderful cabins, they are very costly. We have enjoyed them with our family multiple times and feel we have been a consistent repeat customer. While during this COVID Pandemic I was forced to retire early and due to lung issues have been quarantined now for roughly 4 months. We decided to postpone celebrating my wife’s 60th BD we had planned at the Hot Springs. We did vow to hold off until we could re-schedule, basically putting this on hold! For her BD this year I gave her a save the date(s) card and was actually going to re-book for late 2021! ||After a couple of corresponding messages simply stating my frustration and even indicating no more response was needed and we were going to let it go, the owner decided to fire back one more time with messaging that would be insulting to anyone’s intelligence! She basically said that the fee was to pay for costs her employees incur to the business for that missed period on the calendar. Sorry but that is the dumbest thing I could have expected to here in relation to this. ||Anyone who knows this place knows that in normal times it will get booked as it stays booked.||In the small print it does indicate the cancelation fee but also very conveniently, unlike almost all resorts and places as such, leaves out a period of 30, 60 or even 90 days in advance. ||So I write this as a “this time shame on them” but next time it would be shame on me”. There will not be a next time due to pure greed to take $40 of hard earned money for simply 2 clicks of a finger. One clicks almost 2 years in advance and the second click 7 months in advance! The prices also continue to climb and to me have well exceeded the value! I challenge all to look around as there is better value with great...
Read moreCabins are remote with privacy. Very old, beautiful rustic cabins that come with their own private hot springs. The hot springs was amazing. It was large with plenty of place to sit. The temperature with the cover on gets up to 115 and you can use the cold water from a hose to cool it off, which only takes a couple of minutes. If you leave the top off the hot springs, the water is about 105-108, which needs just a little cooling down. I hate lukewarm water, so I loved this. And there are NO bugs in the water, it has a natural filtration system where the top layer of water runs off down the side of the hill into the creek, so it was perfect. The kitchen came fully stocked and there was lots of table space to play games. The furniture was super comfy leather furniture. The cabin is decorated with lots of antique photos. The beds came with plenty of very soft covers including electric blankets. The cabin is heated by gas stoves throughout and they have a wood burning fireplace insert as well and they provide the firewood for that. The views of the Chalk Cliffs and a fourteener (forgot the name) were spectacular out both the front and back of the cabin. This would be a fun thing to do with 3 couples since there were 3 bedrooms with queen beds. The mattresses were very comfortable and did not have the indentations from being old and worn out. You could hear the rush of the creek and it lulled us to sleep at night with the windows open. The star at night were spectacular on clear nights, and you have enough privacy to go into the hot tubs naked at night!!! There is a hike down the road to a waterfall, but it was a little long for me, so we didn't make it all the way. If you drive down the road west about half a mile there are more rushing creeks with bigger boulders that is also very pretty. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my stay. We may be moving to Texas this summer, so this was my goodbye to the Rocky Mountains, and I couldn't think of a more memorable last mountain experience...
Read moreFirst off I hardly do reviews. But people should know your are not getting what you pay for. This place is super over priced. The chalk cliff cabin has no ac which I get is the mt. Then you better have screen doors on all the doors for air flow. It was 80 degrees during the day. The security lights outside didn't work so we were not able to use the hot spring late at night. The few fans that were at the cabin were old and noisy. For the amount of money charged this cabin should be in beautiful condition. Make sure you check the dishes as another guest had put back dirty dishes. Be careful if your are allergic to ants they are all over the hot spring pool patio. I was bitten several times while sitting in and out of hot spring pool. The deck had a ton of wood rot so watch your step||It was so so hot and over priced we ended up leaving a day early and eating the money for the last day cuz we were both over it. Not even an apology for the issues. I tried several times before we left to contact Jessica about the issues the morning we left her reply at the end of the day was "for it".||Pretty sure the smoke alarms don't work. There are 2 that are missing and the 2 in the bedrooms upstairs don't look too be working.||The only positive was the hot spring, but it's really not private to the neighbors they see ya all day long.||I just believe for the amount of $375.00 a night things should be in...
