Not a good experience. We paid $500/night for a cabin and I'm pretty angry about it. There is absolutely no benefit to staying at this place. Stay in BV and get a day pass if you really want to.

Check in was quite slow, but no big deal. We pick up the cabin keys and drive over, only to discover that our cabin is quite far away from the resort. Like, it's not walkable to anything at all. I realize this is sometimes luck of the draw, but we booked 5 months in advance and were traveling with an infant and a toddler. Maybe you could put us somewhere within the resort? Now we have to get the two of them into the car to drive everywhere--to the pools, to the restaurant, etc. Problem is, parking at these places is near impossible. We have to drive to the pools and park a considerable distance from the entrance, only to haul a baby and a toddler. Why did we pay to stay here if we just have to drive and fight with the day pass crowd for parking? They need reserved spots for overnight guests.

Back to the cabin experience. We arrive and the cabin is hot. No AC, which is expected, but all the windows are closed and it's steaming in there. The only way to cool it off is with 1970s box fans, but they're not particularly safe for toddlers who like to stick their fingers in everything. We throw our toddler in the tub, only to discover the tub drain doesn't close and we have no hot water. None whatsoever. The maintenance guy was quick to arrive and fix the hot water issue for that first night. Next night, we try again and guess what? NO HOT WATER AGAIN. Having no hot water at a Hot Springs is pretty ironic. Also the tub drain continues to not work, so baths are impossible. The cabin itself is surface clean but seriously do not look under the bed. Have I mentioned we paid $500/night?

The food situation is also not good. Grabbed a takeout menu the first night, which says pizza is available at the market until 8pm. I call at 7:40 to order one and I'm told pizza is closed. Thanks for the hospitality. Call to order at the restaurant. Not only are these entrees expensive ($30+) but they tack on a 15% gratuity fee for pickup! I get into the car and drive over (see the part about not being able to walk anywhere) to pick up a single entree and a kids mac and cheese, for a total of $45. I arrive and nobody can take a minute to greet me. I stand at the host stand for over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledges my presence. This wouldn't have been bad if A) the restaurant was busy (it wasn't since it was 8:15pm at this point) or B) if the waiter who finally came over didn't answer the phone instead of greeting me, who's been standing there for an awkward period of time. Why am I paying 15% gratuity for this?

After two nights of not having hot water and fighting for parking, we decided to leave a day early. The manager wouldn't talk to me at checkout (the junior person who took notes at the desk was very nice though), and they've been unwilling to talk to my credit card company, which I used to book the trip. Very disappointing experience all around and we...

I am not sure what has happened to this place, but the guest experience was reminiscent of what happens when an organization is purchased by a private equity group who tries to squeeze every last cent from their patrons.

Our group of 6 people had an entry bill of over $300, which included the rental of the cheapest generic hotel towels you’ve ever seen. We were going to buy a basic $5 (at most) tube of coppertone sunscreen, but it was marked up to $18. A cartoonishly small locker costs $7 to rent. It’s as though the folks in charge sat around a table and asked “what’s the very most we could possibly charge for everything, without people walking away when they arrive?”

They advertise that you get $5 (out of $10) back when you return a rented towel. I went to return our 6 rented towels and the employee working the window next to the towel drop station at the upper pools acted perplexed when I asked for our refund. She then asked for the receipt, which luckily we had saved (they don’t tell you that you need the receipt in advance). I waited for almost 15 minutes, as the employee was on the phone with her manager, who was then asking us to read our credit card number over the phone so they could credit our refund. (I didn’t trust them at this point). After I was visibly annoyed with them wasting so much of my time on what was supposed to be a relaxing experience—and at my insistence, they finally gave me the ridiculous $30 “deposit” back for the rented towels. (As was their policy, written on a sign right outside of the admission window where I stood arguing with them). Absurd!

Some of the pools are also notably hot, without any indication. I’d estimate that they were 110 degrees or more, based on how much hotter it was than any hot tub I’ve ever been in. The water felt scalding, and I normally like hot tubs extra hot. At a bare minimum, they could have some signage that indicates the temperature. I’m not even sure that they closely modulate the temperature, as nobody was in that particular lower pool that was extremely uncomfortable for anyone in our group.

Speaking of signage, the entry way to the lower hot springs admission area is a narrow stairway not much wider than an airplane aisle—which forces entering and exiting guests to squeeze by each other. There are few signs anywhere on the property showing where to go for the various pools. I’ve never seen any area set up so poorly before. Also the steps into the lower pools are some cheaply added steps reminiscent of a cheap above ground pool, as the steps aren’t even built into the pool and they wiggle all around when you try to use them. It’s hardly commensurate with the cost of admission.

All in all, the experience left a lot to be desired, especially when they charge top tier prices for everything. Despite liking this place as a child, I’ll never be back unless they have a change of ownership/management. As is currently, they appear extremely greedy and the customer service is...

If zero stars were an option, thats what I would give. Honestly shocking to me that anyone has anything nice to say about this place. Do not go here and certainly do not come here for a nice experience.

Not only is it disgusting, in disrepair, and completely over crowded but the people that work here are some of the worst I have encountered in the hospitality industry.

Here for a bachelorette trip, I was supposed to get a massage at 12:45 - we checked in at 12:10 and asked if I should spend some time with my group in the hot tubs (they did not get any spa services) or if it were better to stay in the spa area. I was told to stay in the spa area. I then wandered back to the locker room because no one offered any kind of a tour. It was absolutely disgusting. Garbage everywhere. Half the lockers were broken the other half were trashed and beat up. Mold everywhere. Toilets out of order. And on and on.

I proceeded to find on my own and sit there waiting for an hour before I finally realized something was wrong. Got my phone to realize it was already past 1:00 pm - 15 minutes into my scheduled time. Went up to the front where the receptionists informed me that “someone gas changed your appointment to 1:00. pm” I answered with “without coming to tell me?” to which the other gal at the desk said “well that’s rude”.

They said, well it’s been moved to 1:00 pm but your massage therapist (Janice I believe) should be back there waiting for you.

She was waiting and this was one of the worst and unprofessional massages I have ever received. She ignored my requests to not use her elbows during the massage. Didn’t bother to focus in the areas I was asked to notate in the intake form AND before we started. She used her nails in the bottom of my feet. And on and on.

We did receive a discount on the services after sharing my experience with the manager, who didn’t really seem that surprised, but no amount of a discount makes up for the two lost hours apart of my group and ruining the one thing we were all looking forward to on this trip.

When I did finally make it to the hot springs with my group - the water was absolutely disgusting with chunks of skin and other things floating in it. Zero requirement to shower before so it was slick with sun screen and god knows what else.

We lastly tried to do the creek side pools, but there is no set or safe way to get down. So it ended up being awful for everyone in my group with one who fell and hurt her food.

Heed my advice and go ANYWHERE else for your hot spring experience unless you like disgusting overpriced...
