I am typically not one to leave negative reviews but after reading some previous reviews and thinking about our previous stay in this neighborhood, I thought I would make others aware of our experience. My family and I have been traveling down to the Orlando area for 25+ years staying in various rental communities and neighborhoods throughout the years and this neighborhood will be a memorable one, but not for good reasons.
I will preface with the fact that the home itself was very spacious and met the needs for the individuals in my group. Also, the landscaping of the community and upkeep of the grounds was nice as well. However, we discovered during the first night that our stay in Windsor at Westside was going to be an experience.
In order to get into the "gated community" you have to enter passed a security gate where the security guards check to make sure your name is on the list in order to be staying in the neighborhood. We were checking in on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and it took the first group in our party an hour and a half in order to get into the neighborhood due to the backup of individuals coming into the neighborhood. This was around 8pm. The second half of our group it took over 2 hours for them to get into the neighborhood around 930pm because there was still a large backup of cars. All while this is happening, you could hear extremely loud music coming from within the neighborhood and party buses being let in through the guard's gates as well as individuals walking up to the security gate.
Once inside, we were told that we would have to go to the clubhouse in the morning in order to get a pass to be able to enter the neighborhood more easily because they had ran out that evening. Once we got to the house, it was around midnight and music was still being played very loudly along with yelling being heard up and down the streets that went for hours into the remainder of the night.
Next day we went to the clubhouse to get passes, signs all over the clubhouse that state "masks required within the clubhouse" however at least 25% of individuals inside the building didn't have masks on nor were any of the employees enforcing this rule. Had to wait in another line for 45 minutes in order to get parking passes to be able to enter the neighborhood. When asking the homeowner about the issues getting into the neighborhood we were told that the security team started on a new system and that the long wait must have been an "anomaly" but this "new" system has been in place for over a month now and when going passed the security gates throughout the weekend and even into the following weekend, there was always a line stretched down the street.
The noise also continued throughout the weekend into the late hours of the night and early hours of the morning. There are supposed to be a noise curfew but that is in no way reinforced in this neighborhood. I even saw a security car drive right passed a house that was having a loud party without even slowing down. The noise also does not stop throughout the day either. Forget about relaxing by your private pools at the home because people in the neighborhood continue to blare music throughout the day along with playing karaoke and even DJ'ing music throughout all hours.
The weekends are a no go for anything at the clubhouse because of how many people are let into the resort and my travel group avoided it however a handful attempted to go during the week with less people but turned around and left due to lack of cleanliness and some things being closed at the clubhouse due to the pandemic. They stated that most things at the clubhouse were very worn, dirty, and overused for the neighborhood being "newer".
We have stayed at other Winsdor properties in the past with good outcomes but if this was our first time staying at a Windsor Property, we would never stay at one every again. Gunshots were heard on our final night and looking at other reviews, they have been heard there previously as well. Would NOT recommend staying in...
Read moreI looked at the pictures online and that's honestly what drew me in. It gave off luxury resort vibes and I was here for it. But what it gave off and what we felt and saw there are two completely different things. The pictures do lie and I feel like that's exactly what happened here among other things.
If you say you open up at a certain time, then you should be open at that time, right?. For example, club house says it opens up at 9am and granted we arried early one day, at 8:53 and the guy told us wait 10 minutes, so we waited in our car and came back at 9:10 and the clubhouse still wasn't open. Then once they did finally open the doors, we had to wait for them to open the doors to the pool. The lazy river online looked nice and that's honestly the major reason why we booked here. We love lazy rivers. So to already have a lackluster staff at the club house then walk outside to the lackluster lazy river was just very disappointing and upsetting. The whole purpose of a lazy river is to, you know, be lazy. There are no floats or anything for the lazy river, so that was just weird. We've been to plenty resorts and if there's a lazy river, theres always some type of floating device. Just makes sense! The lazy river had tiles and things missing and coming off of it, plus, it looked dirty. The pool was okay, but one of the steps to get out of the pool is broken. The hot tub, when it worked, was very nice. Trying to leave the pool area is a headache with the gate and the latch and the instructions. Nothing was open. Not the bar or the grill and there were no times to let you know when it would open.
Overall, I'd give it a 3/10. I'm just very disappointed. When you hear and see the word, luxury, that's what you're expecting, right? Yeah, no, not at the clubhouse. Now the resort itself is beautiful. You can walk along it and it has a beautiful scenery. And the house was absolutely beautiful and spacious. That's the only reason why it's a 3/10 and not a 0/10....
Read moreSTAY AWAY!!!! I signed a long term lease in this seemingly perfect community and little did I know that every weekend turns into the HOOD/CLUB!!! People crowd the streets partying into all hours of the night and cars are piled up everywhere blocking the streets. I haven’t been here for a month yet and already so much has happened. Gates are for show because when one car goes through (to the new section where these parties happen AND where I live), many cars follow. There are signs on the gates saying they’re timed for one car at a time and that is a BOLD FACE LIE!!!! One weekend, someone made copies of the guest passes and posted them all over 711 for invites to a party. It too forever to get into the gate to return home because cars were lined up on the main road trying to enter for the party and fights were breaking out. Another weekend, there were about 30 gunshots. 7 houses and 10 cars were shot up!!! Google it!!! There was yellow tape everywhere, helicopter, cops. Sadly, these loud and overcrowded parties STILL happen. The “security” does absolutely NOTHING to protect this community and to ensure everyone’s safety. This place is a mess, particularly Fri-Sun. I can’t even allow my kids to go outside on the weekends. It’s such a shame because the community and homes are beautiful but that’s where it ends. It’s all eye candy. Do not...
