My husband and I stayed on Father’s Day with our three kids, and it was overall a really great time. Veronica was extremely helpful from the moment I called even before check-in, which made it super exciting upon check-in. There was fresh popped popcorn in the lobby and our room was extra clean. We went swimming three times and the pool was clean and well stocked with towels. On our way out to dinner there were chocolate chip cookies at the front desk and we enjoyed them outside by the tabletop fire and it was a perfect ending to our night. The downside is when we woke up for breakfast on Monday morning. I took my older two kids down to breakfast around 7 AM and the woman working the breakfast bar was very unfriendly. She didn’t greet me upon walking in, as she leaned up against the one breakfast station. I was struggling with the pancake dispenser and even turned around to ask her if I’m doing something wrong and she completely ignored my question. Eventually, my husband came down to join us for breakfast and the pancake dispenser wasn’t working anymore. Another guest walked in to make pancakes as well and the woman working the breakfast station came up and said really loudly “ someone must have broken this, you see here if you push this button too hard it’s going to break and that’s what the person must have done so now I have to pour it out for you.” It was extremely embarrassing and very disappointing that she couldn’t offer any help to me while I struggle to use the pancake dispenser, but after it was broken, she had no problem publicly scolding me. We checked out of our room around 10:30 AM and walked out a back exit to get in our car and we drove to the front so I could grab one last cup of coffee for the road. When I walked in, there were several employees all standing around in a circle talking, including the woman from the breakfast bar. Immediately everybody scattered and it made me very uncomfortable. It’s such a shame that we had such a different experience the day of our checkout than we did the day of our check-in but we would give it another try...
Read moreI booked a double queen through Expedia and the person at the check-in desk neither verified my identification nor what type of room I had booked. Instead I was given a king with a sofa bed. I went back down to the desk to let her know, and she said she gave us the last room available with a double queen because most guests were "there for the weekend" compared to us only coming for Saturday night. It was already around 6 pm by then, and the second room clearly had not been turned around properly. The beds were made across the top, but the bedding was not tucked in on the sides, there was trash in the room that was not ours, a large towel on the floor right behind the door to the room, fresh towels that hadn't been used, but also had not been folded or placed properly on the shelf. It was a noisy night for most of the night until around 1 am, at one point even two employees were standing right outside our room (118), having a loud conversation for 10-15 minutes that I could hear every word of. I eventually got out of bed and asked them to stop, and then they still kept talking for another minute or two before they finally walked away. I would never stay here again, as much as I have relied on and preferred the Hampton/Hilton brand in the past. Hot breakfast is a nice touch, but only if you eat pork as that is the only protein option. The beds were a little too firm and the pillows a little too soft for me, but needs on that vary. Also check and make sure the alarm is not set on the room clock because after having a hard time getting to sleep it woke us up at 6 am on Sunday when we...
Read moreI travel often with my kids, so I guess I can consider us experts in hotels across the U.S.. When we walked in we were met by a friendly, cheery front desk person in a beautiful, clean lobby stocked with snacks and drinks for purchase. They also had a huge jug of ice cold water with fresh orange slices, an assortment of coffee and creamers and a popcorn machine!! How cool is that?! I've never seen that before on our stays, and it didn't go unnoticed. Really nice touch! Check in was seamless. As we entered our room, my 6 y.o. exclaimed "This place is beautiful! It is a work of art!". He wasn't wrong! The room was large, spotless, new, and comfortable. We went right to the pool and it was a very nice size. The water was warm and the pool and surrounding area was very clean. The whirlpool was very nice too! I was also truly impressed with breakfast in the morning. They has a very nice selection of breakfast items. What stood out to me was the 2 different flavored waffles... cinnamon and vanilla and all of the toppings ( blueberries, cherries, apples) yum! I was also impressed to see biscuits and gravy and eggs with ham and cheese. They also offered cereals, yogurt, sausage, oatmeal with various toppings, pastries, toast, bagels... and nutella packets!! They also have a fenced in patio area with chairs and fire pits! I loved that! This hotel really goes above and beyond to accommodate their guests. We had a wonderful stay. It is conveniently located to historic Jim Thorpe and there is a Walmart as well as lots of dining options near by. We can't wait to stay again! We truly...
