UPDATE, ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE BELOW.
Went take a shower this morning and there is no shower curtain. No big deal, not the end of the world but certainly one of the things you expect from a hotel is a comfortable bed and to be able to take a hot shower in the morning.
As I have had good interactions with the manager previously I thought he should know that housekeeping forgot to put up a shower curtain... And he jumped down my throat about how housekeepers can make mistakes and I would have brought you one and blah blah blah. I'm a professional traveler.... I deal with mistakes all the time and I'm always very understanding about them. But what I am not understanding about is a general manager that doesn't even want to listen to the concerns of a guest.
When he confronted me as I was leaving to tell me that he would refund my money which I don't want or did I ask for... I said you know you should let someone be able to tell you when they have an issue... sometimes all the customer wants is to be heard and validated! His response truthfully was, I didn't like the way you threw the key across the counter... So apparently you can trigger this man with how hard you place a key on a counter.
That's okay. He has shown me that he doesn't care about guest concerns only making them feel like a simpleton who may not understand that people make mistakes. WTG Eric.
Original Review: This is slightly older hotel that is being run extremely well. The staff is all personable and professional, especially the general manager Eric.
The bed was extremely comfortable, towels were clean and soft and they have plenty of water pressure.
If you're looking for a good night's rest and also a good value, this is the...
Read moreWe’ve stayed at this Baymont in Galesburg quite a few times. It is our halfway point to our sons’ home in Kentucky. We recently stayed 11-9-23. We always feel at home here which is why we stay. The staff is always so happy. It is not “brand new” like some people prefer, but we are not afraid to stay at an older hotel and this Baymont is kept up very nicely. We have never had to place a complaint in any of our stays. Checkin has always been so efficient and love checkout when they put our receipt under the door and all we do is drop off the keys. Walking in, the place doesn’t even smell like a hotel. Smells fresh! Don’t even smell the chlorine from the pool. Everything looked brighter so thinking they did a facelift not long ago. Even our room looked bright and clean. Overall, our room was very clean, bedding and towels were white, and had more than 2 towels!! Beds were comfy the way we like them. Internet was good that I could stream. Hubby would like to add the shower was great, good pressure, hot water fast, and he loved the great breakfast…egg/sausage muffin and had his favorite cereal. We’ve always had a good stay at this Baymont and sure we will...
Read moreVery disappointed in rates I was given...I called the hotel in the afternoon and was given an $89 per night rate. When I arrived at hotel I was charged $139 per night. I explained that I was just given over the phone an $89 per night rate. Staff said well that was an online rate and nothing they could do about it. So I felt very misinformed!!! to say the least. But for $139, what I received was a room, two double beds, that looked very nice upon arrival. Got all situated in the room, after paying the $139 rate, and my roommate says 'watch out here on the floor, it feels slippery'. I said okay, and didn't think anything about it. Later, I walked on the carpeting and said to roommate 'this carpet feels wet'........still didn't think much about it..........Then in the morning upon showering, all the towels felt wet...so we started checking other things and even the little notepad by the phone was all wet...........so we decided the room had issues (perhaps with bad humidity), informed the staff at the front desk about it, and they really didn't say much nor offer any discount for a what I call 'not worth $139 a night"........so no I do not...
