BED BUG ALERT!!!!! Do NOT stay here! They tout themselves as a luxury cabin community, but that couldn't be further from the truth! It looks ok on the surface, but the cabins are FILTHY.
We booked the 3 bedroom cabin named Country Blessings from November 12-15, 2015. The cabin was very dirty and dusty with cobwebs in every corner, dead spiders and smudges all over the Windows. The whole point of being in the mountains is to actually SEE THEM. The hot tub was not working and we had to have maintenance come fix it the first night.
Other MAJOR and minor issues: the rugs were dirty, stained and torn up. The love seat couldn't even be used because besides being ripped and worn - the cushions were so worn out and springless you sunk practically to the floor and the couch was ripped up and dirty. There was literally one frying pan to cook with and it was scratched up Teflon. Not usable at all. One of the burners on the stove wasn't working; the pool table pockets were broken; the pilot lights on the fireplaces kept going out; a kitchen cabinet shelf broke and spilled out all the contents we had in there out to the floor; there were no blinds on the front and back doors; there were no "wands" to open the blinds in 2 of the bedrooms; there were not even 6 kitchen chairs even though the cabin was supposed to sleep 8; there were only 4 glasses and 3 bowls when, again, it was supposed to sleep 8; there were water stains on the kitchen ceiling, and literally an inch of dust on every curtain and window treatment.
The WORST for last: the first night we got in late and just crashed. The next morning as I was going to make the bed, I noticed blood stains on the sheets where I slept! I was disgusted as I knew I wasn't bleeding. We called the management to complain about everything mentioned here but also the nasty stained sheets. He said he'd come up that night between 5-7 to see and handle our issues. He nor a maintenance person never came!
However, after being out the following afternoon (our 2nd day) hiking, we returned to find clean sheets in a large bag on the door of the cabin. My husband changed the sheets and checked them thoroughly for stains and we went to bed that night (still no maintenance or manager to address the issues we complained about). The next morning my husband rolls over, looks at me and grabs something crawling on the comforter up by my face. He shows me and it is a freaking BED BUG!!!! We pulled the sheets off and saw more blood streaks, which we figured out from where we were being bitten by the bed bugs!!! There were also the tell-tale small black stains "fecal matter" that they leave behind!
At his point I'm just disgusted and absolutely horrified. I was crying thinking about all our clothes and the lengths we were going to have to go through to ensure we don't bring any bring home.
It was a total nightmare. I can't explain the feeling that you slept in a bed and were bitten by bed bugs. The kicker is that the manager James would not even acknowledge all of this and refused to give us even one penny back for our stay!!!!
In summary: nasty, BED BUG infested cabins and management who is rude and do not give a flying fart about making your stay pleasant. We will be reporting them to BBB.
BEWARE DO NOT...
Read moreI reserved a cabin (Blue Mist View) for our first anniversary / delayed honeymoon trip. Upon arrival to the cabin, our car was not physically able to make it up the final driveway to the cabin itself and was even sliding backwards towards another persons vehicle who was parked at the bottom. I called and was told that there was nothing they could do as they couldn't move me and couldn't refund me. I was even told that I rented a cabin in the mountains and inclines should be expected (this is regardless of no disclaimer for a very sharp driveway that curves, or that our car had handled every road from our home in Ohio to the cabin itself with no issue). I even explained that my wife was still recovering from a big surgery about 6-8 months ago and couldn't risk re-injuring herself by walking that incline to the cabin should we park and walk. This representative didn’t care for our situation, or that we had just driven 5.5 hours to get there, they just kept telling me that I can cancel the reservation and IF the cabin was re-rented I may get some of the money back. My wife tried to call back and got someone better but was told the same things. Very unhappy, but hoping the travel insurance comes through for us since we had to pay almost as much for a hotel in town as we did for this cabin which took away from our ability to do things while on our vacation/honeymoon/anniversary (and also my very first time to Gatlinburg, so this leaves a sour taste...
Read moreRight dab in the middle of the Great Smoky Mountians. Wonderful views of the mountian tops and valleys. Nice and secluded even though the location is just off one of the main roads. Just under 30 short minutes drive from downtown, and hardly any traffic leading up to here every time we've came. My wife and I have made this a regular family outing, coming at least 2 to 3 times a year. The prices vary depending on what your looking for, but rest assured you get your money out of It. The spacing of the cabins are perfect, just enough yardage and treeline to have the place all to yourselves, with more privacy than you could imagine, considering it is in Gatlinburg. Though it is rather easy to forget while out on the balcony soaking in the hot tub on a nice autum evening. Staring in wonder at the beauty within the trees, just as the leaves seem to magically transform into those beautifully radiant fall colors. Finding yourself lost, deep within. Overcome with perfection, spiritually renewed, awestruck while caught up in the moment, blissfully in nirvana. Hypnotized and utterly consumed by the warm embrace of steam gently rolling over every inch of you. Simply amazed and made humble by the mystical sounds calling out and coming from within the heartbeat of the Great...
