This was a great place to stay, especially during the Autumn! The few photos I've attached to this review certainly don't do this place justice (in a good way), but they are a good example. We were a timeshare party of 3 arriving on the 30th of October 2021 and stayed for a week in adjoining rooms 938-939 on the 2nd floor.
There was plenty of regular parking and easy access parking. Stairs and an elevator aided with moving our luggage in and out with the carts they provide. Everything was clean and orderly, not only in the rooms, but everywhere on and around the grounds. In each of our rooms there were plenty of utensils, dishes, cookware, cups, glasses, etc. There was a toaster, blender, coffee maker and of coarse a stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and sink disposal. The counter space was ample. Each room had it's own stacked washer and dryer tucked away in a closet area.
There was central a/c, heat and each unit had a gas fireplace and there were celling fans in both living rooms and bedrooms. The beds were big and comfortable with more than enough pillows. A night stand complimented each side of the beds and there was a large dresser that served us well. There was plenty of bedding, a bedding kit for the hidabed couch and bathroom towels and wash cloths. The hardwood kitchen table had two seats and a long, curved cushioned bench seat.
The rooms, including the bathrooms, were spacious and there was plenty of closet space with 10 nice wood hangers in each closet. There were 2 sliders leading out to a balcony area, one from the bedroom and one from the living room. There was great lighting throughout both the rooms and grounds. The grounds were very well kept and all the staff, including maintenance, was very polite, friendly and helpful. In fact, we had a small issue with setting the combination code to one of the floor mounted closet safes, so we called the front desk and maintenance came up and rectified the issue in about 15 minutes. He also brought us a new T.V. remote that we mentioned was missing. There was a T.V. in every bedroom as well as every living room. The living room area had a couch (hidabed), two chairs, a coffee table and an end table. The balcony had 4 chairs, a round table for 4 and provided a decent view.
There is a putt putt golf course, a community fireplace outside with chairs, a pool area, a hot tub, pool table with several arcade games and a fitness center on the grounds. There's probably more, but these are what I know of first hand. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a great experience all around.
As an aside to the accommodations, on our first day we saw a huge black bear on the grounds passing through in the parking lot near a wooded area. Several people were taking photos as it left as peacefully as it arrived. One also came during the night that day and ripped a trash can off the wall by the stairs. It was designated and signed for sanitizer wipes only, but some very ignorant people had filled it with common food type trash, naturally drawing in anything looking for a quick and easy snack. The morning we left we saw the aftermath of a bear rummaging through the dumpsters (photo attached). It left quite a mess. I hope it enjoyed the leftovers from The Old Mill as much as we enjoyed the takeout. There are signs on the dumpsters and other areas that let people know that there are bears on the property and to secure your trash. No worries though as they're just looking for food. Enjoy the local wildlife, be respectful and give them space, but regardless, and as always, be aware of your...
Read moreAs an owner, I have HAD IT with the high pressure sales tactics EVERY TIME we vacation. Do you understand we've spent over $50K with your terrible company and yet we get harassed for more every time we just want to have a nice RELAXING vacation. We say NO NO NO, about 8 times before they'll shut up and give us our parking pass. I think I've learned a trick, you DON'T need the parking pass, it's a ploy to get you to listen to their garbage. We didn't hang the parking pass the entire 5 days and no one said a thing. I am going to sell my Bluegreen ownership the minute I get a chance and be done with this TERRIBLE treatment. SCAMMY and Disgusting! Offering $150-200 for a "one-hour sitdown" to harp at you for over an hour as to why your dumb for not buying more of their vacations? Bull! Junk! Terrible! We've spent enough AND the FEES are ridiculous and NOT worth what they produce. Case about fees. We had a NON LOCKING DOOR at this resort and called the desk immediately to report. They sent maintenance who was RUDE and acted like we ran over his dog by asking for the door to be fixed. He "fixed it" (actually, didn't!) and left. Door still didn't shut right the whole time. This is what I pay THOUSANDS in FEES per year for?? The two sliding doors on the unit had different issues (one was hard to slide, one was missing parts of the insulation around it as it was torn and falling apart). The unit was fine otherwise, but other doors (like the bedroom) didn't latch right because when you'd close the bathroom door, the master bedroom would open. The sink in the kitchen was installed poorly and practically fell in! Terrible maintenance here! We will say this, to the PRO's - the grounds are very pretty but it's mostly the environment, I mean it's nature and mountains, so they need to do little to improve on that! Also, there is NO POOL TABLE, as the pictures show, in the game room. This is the SECOND location we've stayed at that the game room pictures are WAY different than the actual room! We were told people were stealing pool balls. Bull! The table would have been right behind the check in counter, so they could easily know this, or they could put up cameras. People staying here are supposedly owners, if an owner is stealing pool balls, you should revoke their ownership or press charges, it would be simple to find out who! The indoor/outdoor pool area is pretty small at the main building but they do have other pools, we used just the one and it was fine overall. Due to high pressure sales, employees that don't know what "no" means, rude maintenance people, and some broken down items, we will not likely return to this location (or others, as we will be selling our membership). BTW: the merger with Hilton didn't make it better, it just gave them more BS things to try to sell you. And you don't get the rewards, you actually...

Our experience with Bluegreen Vacations and owning a timeshare with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the onset, we were promised a multitude of benefits and privileges that never materialized, leaving us feeling deceived and disillusioned Despite attaining elite status, it has proven exceedingly difficult, if not impossible, to secure reservations at certain resorts. We were assured that as Silver members, we would have the option for upgrades, yet every time we've inquired, we've been met with empty promises and disappointment. To add insult to injury, the maintenance fees associated with our timeshare have continuously escalated far beyond what we were initially led to believe. This financial burden, coupled with the inability to access desired resorts due to stringent booking constraints, has only exacerbated our frustration Even when we managed to secure reservations, the resorts we were able to stay at were subpar, to say the least. They were dirty, mold-ridden, and in dire need of repair. It's disheartening to invest in a vacation experience only to be met with such dismal conditions.
In light of these ongoing issues, we have made numerous attempts to cancel our timeshare and request a refund. However, our pleas have fallen on deaf ears, with Bluegreen Vacations showing a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and accountability.I've reached out multiple times in the past few weeks, leaving voicemails and responding promptly to their requests when I miss their calls. However, I'm still waiting to hear back from anyone. I have also attempted to reach out to Hilton, since they bought out Bluegreen and they too have left me in the complete dark. They informed us that in order to cancel our ownership, we would be required to pay a fee of around $5500. Their sole aim is to extract money from you, and I'm truly astonished that they consider this a solution.
We implore anyone considering purchasing a timeshare with Bluegreen Vacations to proceed with extreme caution. Based on our harrowing experience, we unequivocally advise against it. Save yourself the headache, heartache, and financial strain by avoiding Bluegreen Vacations at all costs. In summary, Bluegreen Vacations has failed to deliver on its promises, leaving us deeply regretful of ever entering into this agreement. Do not make the same...
