Awful experience. I booked directly through the hotel website 5 months in advance of my stay. I was looking for somewhere close to the Bank of NH Pavillion and this seemed decent- I was wrong! Firstly, I was put in a pet friendly room when I did not book one nor have a pet with me. The room definitely smelled like dog. Upon settling into our room we noticed there were cobwebs webs on the walls, a layer of dust on the head boards, a used flosser on the floor next to the dresser, a dog toy and a plastic chip behind the bed... the list goes on. What was most shocking was the dead bugs... I always check for bed bugs no matter where I stay, in doing this I pull the sheets back on the bad to inspect the mattress. As I did this, the mattress and box spring shifted and there were tons of dead bugs under the bed. They were not bed bugs but more beetle looking things and flies. The dust was overwhelming and while getting a closer look I noticed the surface mold on the bed bases. Gross. I went to the front desk to request a different room, of course there were none available. The biggest issue here is that everything we found were not things that just happened to get missed by the housekeepers one time, it was very obviously things that never get cleaned. I will say, the night manager Elaine was very helpful and apologetic- she came to the room right away to clean as best as she could. Unfortunately, "I'm sorry" and cleaning the room while guests are in it and trying to get ready for an event just doesn't cut it for the cost. I left direct feedback with the hotel but have yet to here from anyone. I tired to give the opportunity for a resolution before a poor public review. Very disappointing customer service. Definitely would not recommend- especially if you're in the area for an event because you'll end up like us with no other option in an...
Read moreMy husband and two 9-year-olds and I stayed here for three nights. I think this is the biggest room we've ever had for this price. One BR king-bed suite, a huge living area, pull-out couch and full kitchen (full fridge, stove/oven & dishwasher, plus four barstools at the counter, separate from the dining table and four chairs). The kitchen came completely stocked with everything you would need to cook or bake meals, although we used very little of it. There was also a patio with table and chairs (again, we didn't use this since it was cold and rainy). Yes, the furniture and decor is dated compared to the Marriotts we tend to stay in a lot. But that doesn't bother us. Everything was comfortable. The one complaint we had was that the room smelled mildlly of smoke and there was a cigarette butt on the patio when we arrived (the property is completely non-smoking). The front-desk person was immediately responsive to it, coming right down, removing the cigarette butt, and asked if we'd like to try some Febreeze and open windows or would we like to move. We went with the air freshening, and that mostly took care of it. The rest of the room was very clean. The indoor pool and hot-tub were also very clean and we used both every day. We also used the good-size fitness room every day. The grab n go breakfast is very basic (we grabbed additional breakfast other places). We also ate at Patrick's Pub two times, which you can walk to across the street. And it was handy having a liquor store and bagel shop in that same plaza. The hotel is very convenient to several area attractions which we visited - Gunstock Mtn Resort, the M/S Mt. Washington boat cruise in Weirs Beach, Pirates Cove mini golf, and Castle in the Clouds (this was the furthest one at 40 minutes away). We would definitely...
Read moreI am torn on what to rate our experience here due to a couple of issues. When booking our stay originally I booked the in correct weekend and called within 5 minutes of realizing the mistake to have it moved. I had booked Friday & Saturday night for a Q/Q room to attend a concert on Saturday night. After speaking to a very nice gentleman on the phone I was told we were all set and out reservation had been moved. Upon arriving to check in we were notified that we had only been booked for Friday night and that Saturday had been sold out for months... I asked why this had not been made clear over the phone when changing the dates and the only explanation was that I didn't listen closely and didn't review my confirmation. After a bit of bath and forth the woman behind the counter let us know she was putting us in a room that "had just opened up". It was very much an upgrade from what we had originally booked as we were now going to be staying in a King suite, and this was phenomenal news! I could help but feel bad after all she had to say, "better get a 5 star review for this... fixing something we didn't mess up" "hope you have a great time because this totally screwed us for tomorrow". Other than the unpleasant check-in experience the place is in a great location, we were able to walk to our concert Saturday night, and over for bagels in the morning. Spent Saturday day in near by Meredith which is only about a 15 min drive. The room was quite dated but very clean and stocked well. Thank you for accommodating us although it didn't feel you were...
