Gilford Country Store — Local services in Gilford

Have been here multiple times always buying something and had stuff in my hands to purchase this time with much of the store still to look through. But dropped the items and left the store. I am writing this review from the parking lot as I am so upset.

I was in with my service dog and a random dog came charging at my SD barking and huffing in its face. I had to yell multiple times loudly to finally get someone’s attention. I told them someone had to get this dog, it was a staff remembers, and they got snotty with me. They knew I had a service dog, they should have been much more careful and much more apologetic.

The only silver lining is my SD was a rock star not letting this dog distract him a bit. These guys need...

The owner is awesome! I was here looking for a particular item (for a Scavenger Hunt 😃) and she couldn't have been more helpful! When we couldn't find that item, she did, "What else do you need?" and proceeded to take me to the attached bookstore where YES! there was a purple chair! Seriously, this is a must stop for any gift item for anyone on your list. If they like the Lakes Region, you can't go wrong. (Yep, Winniopoly is here!) Beautiful jewelry locally made. Such a cute little store with lots of options. Kids love the big green chair and moose out front. We bought a pretty Christmas ornament ,tile drink coaster and T-shirts and love all that we purchased. Felt much more welcoming and clean than the more touristy shops in Weirs and Meredith....
