Terrible service from the lady who works the desk at night. After driving for two hours to get here, I was refused entry to the room we had already booked because I didn't have the card or the I.D. associated with the booking. I would understand that, if we hadn't stayed here literally 2 weeks ago. All of my information and the cardholders information was already on file. And on top of that, we're diamond members with Best Western. But sure, send your loyal, points earning member to go sit in their car for an hour while we wait for the card that is already on file. Then, once the cardholder arrived, we were handed a room key. I went straight to the room and opened the door, just to see an unmade bed. Either a room that hasn't been cleaned yet, or is already occupied. Mind you, it's after 9pm at this point. Someone could have been sleeping in that bed, or taking a shower, or who knows what else, and the desk person just gave me a key to barge into that room. I turned right back around and left the room, and we got a new key to a new room. But then, I wasn't comfortable sleeping in that bed, knowing that apparently anyone could get the key to my occupied room. After latching both bolts on the door, I was still jumping at every sound in the night.
I'd enjoyed our stay the previous times we had been here, but I don't think I'll be going back...
Read moreI had a 2-night reservation for a work trip. I checked in super late (10pm) and the night clerk (Alicia?) provided excellent service! I booked an accessible room by accident, when my preference was a high floor/away from elevators. Iâm an extremely light sleeper and didnât want a first floor room, but the hotel was nearly sold out. She was kind enough to take the time to switch up some other reservations to get me a different room on the second floor, and put me where she thought would be quietest (much appreciated!). I only ended up staying one night, as I was sent home early. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The fridge and microwave came in very handy. The walls are pretty thin at this place, I could hear the person next door coughing when it was silent in my room (no tv or running the fan). The bathroom had a loud exhaust fan, which helped immensely for white noise. I say this hotel is âgood, consideringâŚâ the general area and limited options. The second evening I was there briefly after work (4:30-6:30 pm) the door slamming of other guests was extremely loud. Iâm glad I had arrived very late the night I stayed to avoid all of that. It was very quiet late at night as it is a working hotel, and folks seem to stay there on business and...
Read moreThe good: the staff was very pleasant and the exterior of the hotel makes it look like it should get 4 stars at the very least. Donât let that fool you.
The bad: the doors to the room are very difficult to open. Even to get out of the room. It is a fire hazard when you canât quickly open the door from the inside. The air conditioner did not work properly, the thermostat keeping resetting itself, and we were told that the a/c could not be set less than 70. The water in the sink was hot when placed on the cold side. We were told to let the cold water run for 10 minutes. All these issues were discussed with hotel staff.
The room is tiny, the shower is slippery, the grab bar is outside the bath rather than inside, and no microwave.
Need I go on? Although staff was very proud of breakfast (which is only served until 8 am, I suggest you use the 15 % off coupon the hotel provides you with when you check in and have breakfast next door at Dennyâs instead (I donât mean to hurt staffâs feeling but the eggs were runny and the biscuits were floury).
The upshot: after complaining, they did accommodate me by giving me 1500 points in our Rewards program.
To stay or not to stay? Itâs...
