River View Guest House — Hotel in Grafton

We had a pretty good 2 night stay in the Wine Cellar Room. I would say it would have been better for 2 people rather than 3 people which we were. There were not extra pillows provided for the third person in our group who slept on the sofa sleeper, which of course, is already not as comfortable as a bed. They promised to not charge us the extra person charge of $20/night, but only honored half of that offer when I got my credit card statement. They also have a sign over the sink that says you will be charged $30 if you don’t clean your dishes, but they don’t provide you with the necessities to hand wash dishes. (There is a set of 4 of everything) Especially during COVID, this doesn’t seem very sanitary, though they had the dishes and silverware plastic wrapped sealed and dated. So I would recommend bringing your own extra pillows and dishwashing necessities. Also, just to be aware, there is no dining table, chairs, or area for that matter, so you need to improvise. When we went in March 2021, the grocery store next door was closed, and had to go to the gas station to buy milk. This was our 2nd visit to the RVGH and we're going again in Feb. Bring your clothing and food and settle in, everything else you need is there, the view over the river is spectacular and you can sit on the deck and watch the eagles. Perfectly clean and comfortable. We had the “Beach House” room overlooking the river. There are chairs and tables right outside your door for a peaceful view. A convenience store is very nearby as are restaurants. Private entrances to each room. The room has cute and pleasant beach decor and is cool and light.
