WARNING! CREDIT/DEBT CARD SCAM! Do NOT stay at this hotel. First, the price is insane. We paid $196 for ONE night! See attached photo.
Secondly, the receptionist said they don't take apple or google pay because they don't trust those forms of payment. Instead, they hold your credit/debt card info on some file and ask for your billing zip code. This is extremely concerning! You should never have to give any credit/debt card information to any receptionist especially after paying online, which I did so using apple pay from hotels.com. I will be cancelling my card tonight after writing this review just to be on the safe side. NEVER give your credit/debt card information out to anyone.
Incase you didn't know, the way apple/google pay works, they mask your actual card info with a unique temporary card for each transaction, this way your actual card info isn't shared with merchants. From apple directly, "Personal data. Protected. When you make a purchase, Apple Pay uses a device-specific number and unique transaction code. So your card number is never stored on your device or on Apple servers. And when you pay, your card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants."
If you go to any hotel that has the ability to use either apple or google pay but refuses to use it, this is a sign of either credit card fraud or a scam. Do NOT STAY at this hotel.
EDIT 06/17/25: The location replied and said they were working to train their staff on the use of an updated pos system. You not taking apple/google pay was never the issue. The issue is storing customer data in "some file" on "some computer". What encryption methods does this "some computer" use? Where is this "some file"? Improper storing of customer data breaks a few different federal laws for data storage, specifically GLBA and FTC Act section 5. With regard to data encryption for transferring data, you run into tls issues and regulatory standards set by NIST, IETF, IEC, OWASP, and others. THIS is my concern. Your receptionist using a different system/method to store my credit card other than those already established standards and methods.
The other issue is asking for my billing zip. Again, extremely concerning. No other hotel I have ever been at has asked me for my billing zip. Why do you need it? Also, if you're going to reply, give actual information. What system are you using for your POS? Where is this separate file stored? Consumer have the legal right to know how and where their data is stored. If you refuse to answer these questions, you're simply affirming my suspicions that you're stealing customer credit card information.
For prospect customers, read their reply carefully, I highly doubt that will answer any of my questions directly. Other reviews have said they were billed twice for the same stay. Watch your bank account closely if you choose...
Read moreI participated this year in URC '25 (on the Sooner Rover Team)! This hotel is now my favorite in Green River.
It seems to be under new leadership, and the effort these folks have put in truly shows! All new furniture, happy + helpful staff, and well-maintained amenities shows that this hotel means business.
In any case, I want to discuss my favorite part of this hotel: it has spaces to collaborate. The Business Center is the comfiest I've seen at any hotel, with plush leather couches and comfy lounge chairs.
The staff won't kick you out if you go to the Dining Area, so you're free to use that nice room as a gathering space at any time. It's the first hotel I've been to where there's something like a living room for all residents. This feature seriously improved our stay here!
We couldn't access it this year due to ongoing construction, but the Dining Area outdoor balcony will be incredible once it's accessible again! I hope to see some shade + fans there next year, as it'll be a great place to hang out in the morning and later in the day.
Another underrated part of this hotel is the amenities: the gym and pool are well-maintained, clean, and well-stocked. The gym was a little small for its professional-grade equipment, so it's more for 1-2 people to use at once. An expansion to the gym would be a great improvement, though it's fantastic as-is.
Cold water is always available at this hotel. I know it's a low bar, but other Green River hotels seem to forget about providing cool water to its guests. Adding a wall-connected water machine in the Lobby would be a nice improvement, though - my bottle still tastes faintly of lemon from the lemon water! đ
There are a few improvements to be made. First, the key cards are very finicky. I'd expect those to be replaced in the future, as staff didn't seem to enjoy them much either. Another (very minor) issue is that our bathroom lacked towel hooks, so 4 people's towels were kinda scattered everywhere.
The other two improvements I can suggest are related to the building's networking. First, the wired internet doesn't work - not even in the Business Center. I think it's because of remodeling, but I'd love for that to be addressed! Also, the building doesn't have outdoor Wi-Fi, so things cut out quickly outdoors. A few MikroTik NetBox 5 ax devices around the perimeter would solve that quickly. :D
Nevertheless, the hotel was very comfortable and nice! I expect to revisit next year...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE FOR MELON DAYS We played in the softball tournament for melon days which is an all night tournament. Played from 2pm Saturday - 12pm Sunday the next day. I booked the hotel a week or more in advance cause i knew it was going to be âbusyâ for the event melon days. I paid a premium price because of it, and used the room for maybe 6 hours total. Which was my choice but we needed a hotel in case we got the chance to sleep between games. Before i booked the hotel i called reception to talk to them about possibly checking out late because i wasnât sure how long into the next day the tournament would go. The answer to that question remained the same. The lady at first told me check out is 11. We can let you check out but after 1 there is a $25 dollar fee. Then after 3pm that you are charged for another night. She said they could waive the late fee if i talk to reception. So i booked the hotel. When i arrived i talked to the man in front and he was very short, gave me attitude and did not want to help at all but told me the same thing the lady on the phone did. And i call him man in the front because heâs wearing no name tag and no indication that he even works there and his attitude shows the same as his appearance, he doesnât care what the customer thinks. So the stay at the hotel preceded, we talk to the receptionist at night, she tells us the same thing that they will waive the fee. After 3pm is another night. Well lucky me i get the grump who doesnât want to work when i get to check out and youâll never guess. BUT HE STILL CHARGED THE LATE FEE. AND I CHECKED OUT AT 12:50 and rushed back to hotel because when i called AGAIN. Attitude at the front desk with no name tag or work attire treated and talked to me like was a child Because i come to the biggest event in green river, stay at a local hotel and get treated like crap and still charged a late fee after i called multiple times, trying to communicate what i was doing on my end. And just for reference, the pictures attached is the parking lot of the hotel when we checked out.. empty. no customer service AT ALL. Myself, and the 11 people and their families will not be staying at this hotel when we come back to melon days like we do every year. Completely appalled and only because of the way that man treated me for the 6 hours of interaction i had in a price hiked hotel which at the time i was still...
