We had an amazing experience and I think that every small hotelier should take notes from Skyfall! Located under the Tamarisk restaurant, the guestrooms are comprised of 3 rooms, each tastefully and uniquely decorated. Our room featured a wall decorated with an old rock climbing rope twisted into a silhouette of Goblin Valley - attractive, creative, and upcycled! They put thought into what people visiting Green River need: their clientele is going to be campers, hikers and outdoors people. Fitting those needs, the rooms are outfitted with a second sink outside the bathroom, a huge stainless steel basin perfect for washing things soiled by the outdoor activities. There's a mini fridge and it has a separate freezer, not just those useless little freezer areas. The shower is roomy and has one of those long flat drains. There are power outlets in the right places, a place to hang your clothes, a desk, a couch and even great window shades allowing you to either black out the light or just get privacy. They don't nickel-and-dime you!! Included with each room is free breakfast. Rather than it being a defined set of options, you are able to create your own order from anything off the restaurant's menu. Build your own breakfast. In the fridge is a variety of soft drinks, bottled water, and Poweraid, all free and refilled daily. There's a microwave and a free bag of popcorn for you. There's a Keurig and coffee, cream and sugar for you, also free. There is a sampling of the incredible honey caramels refilled daily (available for purchase upstairs, worth it!) There was a bottle of Bourbon and a couple Moab beers. Oh, nevermind, we brought those! The owners adapted to Covid really well also, including an air purifier in the room. You can have your meals ordered from the restaurant above brought down to your room. And the rooms are accessed directly from the outdoors, so no need to worry about social distancing on the way to or from your room. The rooms look out at the river itself, just a handful of feet away. One thing I assume the owners are thinking of, is that about an afternoon's worth of work could turn the patio by the river into a great sitting area for chilling and taking in the river. There's even a sandy beach there! All told, there's really no better option you could find in or near Green River, and really I wish this building could exist in every town I visit. Great work, Skyfall/Tamarisk, I wish...
Read moreThis was a really comfortable, stylish room in a unique and convenient location. The property has a total of 3 guest rooms located beneath a restaurant and coffee shop. My room was spotlessly clean, and larger than expected. It was comfortable for both sleeping and working, with a small desk area and nice-sized sofa included. The in-room free WiFi was solid and fast, with ample speed for both working and streaming. The shower was hot. There's even a tiny kitchenette (more like a wet bar), tucked out of the way with a sink, mini fridge and microwave. The mini fridge was stocked with complimentary bottled water, soda and sports drinks. The bed was super-comfy, and climate control was easy with the remote-controlled heat/AC unit. There was a high-quality air purifier in the room, but I didn't need to use it. There isn't a lot of foot traffic outside of the guest room doors, because only guests would have any reason to follow the sidewalk from the parking lot down to that part of the building. Traveling alone, I felt totally safe. All 3 rooms are right on the river with huge windows and great views. In the rooms, you can definitely hear a little foot traffic from the restaurant above you. But it wasn't excessive, and the restaurant closes pretty early (9 PM when I visited, 10 PM during the summer). Alison and Phyllis were helpful, accommodating and informative. For those of you who don't prefer a "B&B" experience and generally prefer a hotel (like myself) - never fear. Check-in here works just like a regular hotel - check in at the host stand in the restaurant - and I was completely undisturbed during my stay. Added bonus - the restaurant upstairs is delicious. This spot is best-suited for solo travelers or couples. If you're coming to Green River for Green River, this is a great stay. If you're coming to Green River for Moab, your commute to Arches National Park will be about 45 minutes. I was very happy with my decision to stay here, and 10/10 would stay again when traveling to...
Read moreJust stayed in this lovely nook last night and it’s probably been the most pleasant place I’ve stayed at in years! My mother and I are on a road trip from California to Colorado and were looking for a place to rest our eyes for the night midway, and after seeing the reviews and photos online, I decided to give Skyfall a shot. We booked it about an hour or so before arrival with no issues, and when we got there, my mother was RAVENOUS from an 8 hour drive. So we went inside the Tamarisk restaurant right above the rooms, in the hopes of finding something my mother could eat. (She’s gluten intolerant AND vegetarian which is a boat load of fun when it comes to dining!) To our AMAZEMENT, they were able to make a veggie burger with gluten free bread and it looked amazing - along with an equally gorgeous side of perfectly crispy fries. After a hearty meal we decended to the rooms. When we went in, we were welcomed to a warm, clean room. Everything was pristine, the bathroom was squeaky clean, and there was a little tray of complimentary snacks on a table to greet us. (There were also complimentary drinks in the refrigerator!) The bed was soft and we were able to get 10 hours of blissful sleep, and woke up to a calming sunrise over the river. It was a very refreshing stay - and if that wasn’t enough - we were able to grab breakfast before leaving with the complimentary full breakfast that comes with stay. It exceeded expectations, and was an amazing finale. Highly recommend lodging here, and will be back again! For reference, we stayed in the Goblin Valley room, which looks like it popped out of a Target catalog with the pop of color and unique...
