I stayed here for a week the first part of December. It’s only been open a month or so, but is already busy. ||The manager and other employees are great. I didn’t get in until after 10 pm, and had an issue with my room smelling like paint. They immediately gave me another room to use for the night, and the next day moved me and met all my requirements. They were friendly, sincere and very helpful. Because I was not in my temporary room when they came in to clean, they threw out my coffee, lemons and half and half. When I went to the front desk to see if they had stored it, they said they’d immediately go to the store and replace it for me. Wow! Who does that? Someone who believes the customer’s satisfaction is No. 1. ||The rooms are contemporary, and very nice. I am not adding pictures, because the ones on their site are accurate. On the first floor, all floors are tile planks (so bring slippers). I believe most of the other floors have carpeted bedrooms. They have 2 what looks like 60” TVS, in the living room & bedroom. The kitchen has a wet bar with two chairs, an electric range top and oven, a microwave, and a dishwasher. The refrigerator is what I’d call apartment size. The living area a comfortable couch & chair. The bathroom is a good size. ||They have USB charging areas in both the kitchen & bedroom, but unfortunately they’re not the USB C. So bring a wall port if you have a C. There are plenty of plugs. ||I was here by myself, and felt very safe. I’m an early riser, and had no issues going outside or into the courtyard. ||There is a small gym that looks out into the courtyard. So the kids can be out there while you’re working out and you can watch them. ||It is in a nice, quiet area. It is three stories. I stayed on the 3rd floor the first night, and the 1st floor for the rest of my stay. All rooms open up into a good sized courtyard, with artificial turf, chairs, tables, a gas fire pit, and soon a BBQ. The courtyard is somewhere the kids can play or run around. You cannot get inside without a key, so it’s like living in a gated area. That’s a nice touch, but don’t forget your key. ||The noise was minimal from the other residents, and I never had an issue with noise from above me. The bedrooms are in the back, so you don’t hear people walking outside. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets. ||I would recommend that if you’re on the first floor that you request in the middle. The doors to go outside can be loud, so it may wake you when they’re opened or shut. I was in the middle. ||Usually I stay in 5* hotels, so there were a few things I learned. Stop & get water, a sponge, dish soap, & some paper towels. There is a dishwasher that they provide soap for, and one hand towel. But they will replace whatever you need. The shower has a dispenser for shampoo & body wash. ||I had to search for any negatives, and could only come up with the smokers ashtray is right by an entrance, so there are always smokers by the door. And no ashtrays in the back entrance, so there are cigarette butts all over. They do clean it up daily. I think they need more ashtrays, and away from the doors. I think a few benches outside would be useful. More water pressure in the shower would be great. And the big laundry carts are left in the halls or courtyard. I’m assuming they’ll be putting them in storage, but right now storage is full of a few things they still...
Read moreOverall, not a bad place to stay, but our visit wasn't without issue.
The Pros: It's a new place so everything is brand new in the rooms, or close to it The rooms themselves are very spacious, with a full kitchen and included plates/cutlery so you can cook your own meals The price for the amount of space you get is a really great value (we stayed for $84/night at the time) 2 TVs that you can cast to Cat6 ethernet port in the bed room
The Cons: The digital key option through the app didn't work for either the external entrance or the room. Thankfully there was an employee at the main office after hours to give us our room keys. The building is off a 4 lane road, which is very noisy, even at night. Behind the building is a warehouse district so there are huge trucks coming and going at all hours of the day. Hope you don't get a room facing the parking lot, because the parking lot lights are very bright and the blinds in the rooms let a lot of light through Our room key stopped working the evening of our 2nd-to-last day. The employee at the front desk was new and didn't know how to give us a new one, and got into a minor argument with the manager when they came to help out. I personally felt that the beds were very uncomfortable. The mattress was hard and squeaked like was made out of plastic, plus there's no box spring. Between that and the bright parking lot lights, I didn't get a lot of sleep.
The "eh": There was shampoo and shower gel, but no conditioner, so bring your own if you need it The toilet in our room was constantly running because whoever installed the plunger made the chain too tight, so I fixed that for them The hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so expect to drive 20 minutes to either Greenville or Spartanburg for groceries/restaurants
Given all the cons, I'd consider staying here again because of the price. I can see it being great for a family because of the...
Read moreThis Stay Apt Suites had only been open for two weeks when I stayed in early April 2021, in a new construction building. There are no google reviews, so I’m leaving one. I would definitely stay here again. I don’t know if the rate is introductory, but this is the best value for an extended stay room with a kitchen I’ve ever had. I’ve had to pay double at a Residence Inn by Marriott that was only marginally nicer (and overpriced, in a higher priced area, but still a class or two above where Stay Apt Suites is aiming). I only stayed one night to attend an event at the BMW performance center a mile away, but I wish this brand were available in all the other locations where I need extended stay places. I would choose this over Homewood or Candlewood Suites, Extended Stay America (yuck), or even a lot of AirBnBs. The rooms are nicely finished, clean, comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed with everything you expect in a hotel room. The kitchen layout is the best I’ve ever seen for this style of accommodation, and really useful (full size fridge, all the major appliances including a full size range, pots, pans, cutting board, knives, plates, etc.). Wifi works well. The two large, smart TVs connect to youtube, etc. The building layout was a first for me; the rooms open to an interior courtyard. So, the rooms are motel style in that they open to the outside, but it’s more secure because there is limited access to the interior courtyard, like a regular hotel. To get to the rooms, you either need to access the building through the front door, or have a key card to get in a side door. My only very minor complaint is lack of EV charging (doesn't need to be "free," but its strange that any new construction would not provide chargers in the parking lot somewhere). My first experience with this brand was definitely a...
