Decent place to stay, best part your down the street from the dunes entrance. I originally booked on Airbnb but when my husband got to the office our room was accidentally checked into by someone else. The lady in the office quickly upgraded us to a room with a view upstairs number 408. At first I was a little upset as the original room looked much nicer inside than the room we were given but considering the view, almost could see the ocean, it was a trade off. The room had a full kitchen with basic supplies no seasoning so bring your own. The worst part about the unit was the bed it was horrible no support very very cheap mattress which I hope the owners replace. Other than that, it was quiet, close to a Mexican restaurant which was delicious and will stay again just in another room with a better bed. Tip: for off-roaders there is no trailer parking. You can park on Pier Ave overnight at the moment even thou it states no parking 2am-6am, we talked to a local and they said the police are not enforcing the parking law as it’s Covid and some locals are sleeping overnight in their RVs and cars along the street. That being said lock up valuables as I did see a few shady characters.

These rooms are individually owned, so you may not have the same experience every time you stay. We traveled with another group and we had very different experiences in respect to our rooms. We booked through Airbnb and stayed in unit #102. There were great reviews about the host as well as the room. We weren't happy with either. The room was in need of regular maintenance (the walls were dirty, the carpet stained and torn, bubbling paint on the window sill etc.) as well as a good deep cleaning (mildew on the window sills and behind the curtains, dirty vents). The room furniture and decor was gaudy and super worn. Our 3rd person needed to sleep at a relatives house because the pull out sleeper wasn't in any condition to be a bed. There is also a loud fan in the bathroom that doesn't shut off. I know there are nice units at this site. We just haven't had any luck reserving a good one. (See photos)

I made a laundry list of 12 things wrong with the room and their main concern, when I gave it to them upon check out, was the kitchen sink water smelled and tasted like dirt, not the fact there was no AC, nor could we use the TV in the bedroom cuz there was no remote for it (which were our 2 biggest complaints), nor the fact we couldn't get ahold of anyone to help us after checking in... The screens all had tears or holes or were falling out, the sofa was a sleeper but was all broken down and smelled musty, the rooms could use a deep cleaning, our balcony chairs were both old and seats were broken out of them rendering them unusable. The biggest plus was the gem of a restaurant called The Rock & Roll Cafe down a couple blocks that we ate a late dinner at just before closing. It's made up of two old Amtrak train cars and full of wonderful memorabilia, and the staff were amazing as well!

The staff was fantastic. Easy check in, The location to the beach is perfect. We enjoyed driving on the beach and the beautiful sunsets.

Cons: the key card locks are no longer working. They key card locks are still on the door. Instead of fixing or updating their locks, they simply installed a dead bolt above them. This is the first sign of things to come. First thing we see when entering the room is the 17" CRT TV built into the wall. Same with the bedroom. I'm surprised that I didn't see a VCR. Why in the world haven't they spent the 200 bucks for a nice 48" LCD TV. The Cable TV signal was snowy, fairly crappy, there were only 30 channels When we got up, I discovered that the dishes in the cabinet were dirty. I had to scrub the dried on egg yokes and food off of everything we used. The skillet Teflon coating was burnt off. Pretty much ruined our breakfast.

All night long we were awakened by the monster truck traffic...why haven't they put in triple pane windows yet. They have no A/C. The RV's that parked right outside our room provided the tranquil sound of a gas generator. --The Wi-Fi signal was useless. The hotel has a nice hot tub. The rod iron gate broke right off the hinges. Plastic chairs and tables were all broken. --Most of the interior is way outdated. This includes the furniture. And when I told the staff what room I got, she paled in horror. We never give that room to guests. She then proceeded to offer another room. (I had to be somewhere in 15 minutes or I might have accepted her offer.) She then gave me a brand new 5-dollar skillet. --The toilet barely flushed. All of the linoleum was separated in the bathroom and kitchen.

If you're coming to enjoy the beach and just need a place to sleep at night, the bed was comfortable. There are lots of great restaurants. I strongly recommend Juan's there...

Booked a 3 night stay for our anniversary, in March. We've stayed here before and were pretty happy, but this time, the bed was hard, (hurt the hubby's back) the fire place didn't work, the sofas were dirty, i didn't even want to sit on them, i put a blanket over them, (thankfully i travel with my own fresh blankets just in case the hotel is dirty and i needed them here!) Oh and we only had 1 chair for our patio. And i paid extra for the upgraded room! Staff didn't do anything to move us into a nicer room, even though i called to inform them of the broken fireplace within the first hour of checking in. Lady at the desk ask if I really needed it? Humm, YES I DO! First off it was March so it was very cold at night and sometimes during the day. Second it's a romantic anniversary getaway and website said the room was accommodated with one. Third I paid over $300 for our stay and i should get what i want, especially when i notified the front desk within the first hour of checking in that our fire place wasn't working. They promised to send a maintenance man the first day, but we were never notified if he did come. I ended up calling the front desk back a couple hours later on that same day and the front desk lady said they did try but couldn't get it to go and that sometimes their fireplaces don't work and they couldn't help/control it. 🤦 She also said they couldn't move us because they were booked, but the room next to us sat empty for 2 days 🤷. Only used once by a family of 4, then sat there dirty until the next day, when the maid finally arrived. Overall, it's a gamble on if you'll get a good room, no way to guarantee that since they are individually owned and all differently decorated. Not sure if I'll be back, might spend my $300-400 on a place where the staff...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Pacific Plaza Suites, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's luxurious ambiance combined with its stunning views made for an unforgettable stay. However, what truly stood out was the impeccable service provided by Susie at the front desk.

Susie went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect. From her warm welcome upon arrival to her helpful recommendations for local attractions, her attention to detail and genuine care for guests truly shone through. No request was too big or small for her, and her professionalism and friendliness made me feel right at home.

The room itself was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities one could need for a comfortable stay. The hotel's facilities, including a spa and laundry machines were top-notch and provided a perfect way to relax and unwind.

Overall, I cannot recommend Pacific Plaza Suites highly enough, and much of that recommendation is thanks to Susie's amazing hospitality. If you're looking for a truly exceptional hotel experience in a stunning location, look no further than Pacific Plaza Suites. Thank you, Susie, and the entire team, for making my stay truly memorable. It's like having your own little apartment right by the beach!!! I love...
