Renters beware!
This place was filthy!!! Every surface had dust on it. The blinds were caked with grime and dust. The baseboards haven't been touched in a very long time. The bathrooms had holes in the ceiling. The garbage disposal didn't work. Several of the bedroom TVs didn't work and were missing remotes. The folding table in the dining area inside was covered with sand and food residue. The water was either scalding or cold, no in between. In one of the bedrooms, there were koolaid packets left in the sheets. The kitchen utensils, plates, pans ect were grimy and had to be washed before use. I think the final straw was pulling down a blanket from one of the closets and getting completely covered with sand! We also weren't given a keycard for the resort amenities (indoor pool ect) which was one of the reasons we chose this place. We arrived late afternoon on Tuesday the week of Thanksgiving. We had 4 families coming for a total of 15 people. On Tuesday we noticed the dirtiness and how the property was very rundown. Wednesday morning I received an email from the owners asking how everything was. I replied that there were many positives but that it wasn't very clean and could use some tlc. I received an email reply that they could send the cleaners back. I refused since it was the day before Thanksgiving and to preform the type of deep clean that was needed it would be very difficult to do with 15 people and all their stuff in the house. Then I discovered that my nieces slept in beds with kook aid packets in them clearly showing that the sheets had not been changed. Throughout the day we saw more and more of the things previously mentioned as well as the lack of a keycard. So I called the property management company. I was told that they would try and reach someone about the keycard but that never happened. They also couldn't tell me where the office was on property for me to be able to go get the card myself. I mentioned how dirty everything was. I was told that deep cleans were not done between parties and that the owners have to schedule a deep clean. I'm appalled that deep cleans aren't done between renters especially during a pandemic!. I received a call from the property manager Wednesday afternoon, her phone cut off mid call. We have left many messages both by phone and email requesting a call since then with both the property manager's office and the owners and have heard nothing back. As a matter of fact, the only communication I've had with the owners is that after my honest review was placed on VBRO, they retaliated by giving me a low review as a renter. I called VBRO to ask about my review and they told me that they would contact the owner since I had very legitimate complaints and the owner would contact me. Big surprise... they haven't! For that much money,I expect...
