I’m extremely disappointed by the customer service we experienced today. My family is on a beach trip, and we stopped by this coffee shop hoping for a fun treat. As we were leaving, my younger sister accidentally dropped her iced coffee and was clearly upset. I encouraged her to go back in and ask if they could remake it—I genuinely believed the staff would show basic kindness and prioritize good customer service.
Instead, the employee acted visibly annoyed and dismissive. She told my sister it wasn’t their fault the drink was spilled and only offered her half off to remake it—which, honestly, felt like a slap in the face. Mistakes and accidents happen, and any business that values its customers would’ve simply remade the drink with a smile. It wasn’t about the money—it was about the complete lack of empathy or care.
This experience left a really bad impression, and we won’t be returning. Customer service should never make someone feel worse than they already do.
Response: Thank you for your response, but I want to clarify a few things. I never said I expected anything for free — I simply hoped for a bit of kindness and understanding. My younger sister, who was visibly upset after accidentally dropping her drink just steps outside your shop, came back inside hoping for a little grace. Instead, she was met with clear annoyance.
She didn’t demand to cut the line or act entitled — she asked politely, and the barista's tone made her feel embarrassed for even asking. Offering half off a remake of a drink that had just been purchased moments before and spilled right outside the door is technically “something,” but the attitude with which it was offered was disappointing and unkind.
Accidents do happen, and while I understand policies, there’s always room to show compassion — especially when you’re in the service industry. We weren’t looking to take advantage of anything; we were just hoping for basic empathy.
I truly wish the interaction had been handled with more...
Read moreWay down Fort Morgan Road, maybe headed to the fort itself? Stop in Selah, a coffee shop in Gulf Shores Plantation at Kiva Dunes. The word “selah" means to pause and reflect, and what better way to do that but in a coffee shop where you’ll feel like you’re on vacation. The drive down Plantation Road is landscaped and visually appealing, and the coffee shop is on the right past the roundabout. You won’t need a parking pass to drive down Plantation Road.🌟Selah has locally roasted coffee drinks, smoothies, ice cream, dessert and breakfast, gourmet baked goods, and Blue Bell Ice Cream. They offer a large variety of drinks such as lattes, cold brews, espressos, chais, and cappuccinos. We really enjoyed the Key Lime Smoothie and the Sea Turtle. For the hungry bunch, they serve bagels with an assortment of meats, specialty sandwiches, and muffins. You can also take home packaged coffee, t-shirts, hats, stickers, and jewelry. 🌟This isn’t a fancy establishment. The furniture is cobbled together but comfortable with plenty of seating, lots of which is bathed in bright sunlight from large, tall windows. The bathroom is adequate and clean. Enjoy a drink or even a meal, take time to pause and reflect, and enjoy a great small business out Fort Morgan Road. Google the hours before you go, as hours will vary in...
Read moreWow! So glad to have this shop right down from the Beach Club on Ft. Morgan! My mother-in-law, toddler daughter and I just had the best little easy girls lunch and coffee! I was skeptical about a bagel sandwich because we don’t always have great quality bagels down here in the South, but the sandwich was wonderful! I had to ask if they made them in-house because they were so fresh. They said they are shipped fresh daily from NY! The meat was thin and so easy to eat! It was delicious! The mother-daughter duo working (daughter is the owner) were so nice and down-to-earth. The shop is so clean and very coastal grandmillennial. It is on trend and so inviting. There is plenty of comfortable seating and tables for you to have a quick bite or stay a while and read or work. We can’t wait to come back for a smoothie or ice cream! This is a new must-stop for us and we couldn’t be happier to have this this far down...
