La Mirage Inn LAX Airport — Hotel in Hawthorne

This place is trash! I hate to be harsh, but there is no other way to describe the hotel. This hotel is no where near the airport. A taxi to this place is about $40 one way. The photos provided do not mention this is is a hotel which takes vacancies. Second, the rooms were horrendous. The place smelled like straight weed. The floor/carpet were black. Any reputable travel website should not be sending customers here. The photos on the website are misleading. I understand for the price I was not expecting the four seasons. However, with any hotel I expect professionalism and clean rooms. This was not the case here. When I addressed with the front desk, he doesn’t even know who his manager is. He only referred me to an email. This place is not safe for anyone to stay except the potheads that hangout. There was also a lady there trying to convince the front desk person to give her a reduced rate because she was homeless. I hope Expedia removes them from their website so no one else is fooled into paying...

We booked through a third party app. As soon as our reservation was confirmed through the app, we received a call to confirm the reservation and was asked our ETA. Checking in was quick and easy. The manager is very helpful. The room was clean and reasonably price. We stayed in a smoking room so the quilt had a few burn holes, sometimes expected, but the sheets on the bed looked brand new. We appreciated most that the room was aired out. As the night goes on there is a lot of people coming in and out but nothing to outrageous. We didn’t really have any complaint but then again we weren’t paying top dollar, & we also took into consideration that the hotel we stayed in the night before was definitely a huge downgrade once we stayed here. It is close to the airport and rental car services which was a huge plus, because it gave us an extra window to check out there local scenic lookouts. Would definitely recommend. We had a great visit! Booked last minute because our Airbnb turned out to be super sketchy, and the front desk let us check in early. The room was bigger than I expected: the king size bed seemed small in the space, and there was even a sitting area with a table and two chairs. The room was sparkling clean (no odors or stains anywhere) and there were several towels and soaps left for us. Room service came by the second day while we were out and remade the bed, took the trash, and left fresh towels. Checkout was super easy, which was nice since we had to leave at 4am for our flight. There is a grocery store a short walk down the road, as well as several fast food options and the bus stop is nearby. Several places within delivery distance as well. I would definitely...
