NY Barbershop’s — Local services in West Athens

I'm a type of person who doesn't trust alot of people cutting my hair due to bad experiences. I knew about the show thru a friend of mine and decided to try it out. I got my hair cut and was satisfied. I came back again, got another haircut with a different barber in this same location and again left satisfied. My most recent time coming to the shop, the barber Chris who is also the owner cut my hair. Assuming i would receive another average haircut, I made small talk with Chris and decided not to look at the mirrors. Chris was taking his time, being very detailed when it came to lines and my fade. I typically get a combover hair cut with medium length up top and a bald fade on my sides. After when he turned me around, I was more than pleased with my haircut. It was clean and crisp. The shop is nice and clean, great entertainment and environment to be at. You won't be disappointed...

I’ve gone a couple of times throughout the pandemic I’ve always asked for the same barber. The reason why I usually ask for the same barber (Mario) is because I have a 11 year autistic brother and it’s really difficult for him to even deal with new people and loud noises. Mario has always accomplished to give him the best hair cut he can through the process of his little episodes my brother tends to get nervous and anxious. When that happens Mario does stop and shows him how the clippers work and that he won’t get hurt throughout the process the sound of the machine could scare him at times so he switches to Scissors until he calms down and goes back to the clipper machine later. The business seems very friendly, “welcome” when I first walked in, speed of service was good I got sat in on a Monday night at 5pm in around 15 minutes. I didn’t get my barbers name but I had asked for a medium fade with a scissors trim on the top to cut the extra hairs on top. He proceeded to give me the highest fade and In doing so had to cut even more from the top to make it look decent. I had shown him a picture for reference and when I said this wasn’t a medium fade he explained there are different variants of fades and I didn’t tell him specifically how I wanted it. I don’t know how to leave a picture of what I have compared to what I asked for but I would definitely want to try this shop again but with a different barber.
