Good location, good room condition, quiet area, not much walkable for food except applebee and grocery (food city) - but strangest check-in ever. Here is what happened: looked online when about an hour away while traveling thru Appalachia area of Kentucky and found many room options open. Decided to go direct to hotel and get room when arrived at hotel. Arrived, no crowd, Sunday 6pm, Go in, front desk person tells me, "you have no reservation? we are completely booked up, there is no room available." I was stunned and told them I checked an hour ago online and found several options open, and I will just check again standing right here. Suddenly, they tell me - yes, we have a room for you! (?) What? Not sure if it was discrimination or just front desk bad mood? In the morning saw that there were several rooms unused from the overnight - could tell due to the "clean room" label on door jam. Oh well, I would stay again - but just know, it may be best to reserve online even if you are right there in the lobby, then go to front desk and check in. The rate I was charged was in error too (too high $), but I wasn't going to dispute it - was pleasant surprise to see a correction and refund on my charge card the following day - must have realized their error. OK - all good now.

The room was clean, beautiful, and very comfortable. The staff at the Hampton Inn were professional and very personable, including front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping, I talked with all of them at some point during my stay. Connecting to the free Wi-fi was not easy for me, but I did manage to finally get it done. The free breakfast was awesome and had a variety of food that I think would have something for even the pickiest eater. Myself, I love the waffles and making my own fresh waffle by following the simple instructions provided on the machine started my morning right. Other members of my family also found plenty of food that they liked. The room had iron, ironing board, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and a blow dryer. As you stepped off of the elevator on the second floor there was a laundry area for guest to use. I'm not sure if other floors had it, but my room was on the second floor so I saw these. I would recommend this Hampton Inn and I will stay there again if in the area.

As someone who spends 80% of their time on the road, I’ve stayed in countless hotels, and the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Hazard exceeded my expectations. The property is modern, well-maintained, and clearly updated with the latest amenities. The rooms are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with sleek furniture and modern technology that made my stay comfortable and convenient. The lobby was spotless, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I had absolutely no complaints during my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The general manager, Justin Combs, encouraged me to give this rating. My sister and I stayed at the Hampton in Hazard for several days during October and early November. The hotel was close to the hospital, and we hoped, because it was a Hilton, it would be nice. My sister, had booked several nights. During the last week, she was made to move her room 3 times-one time, in particular, to the exact same type of room. We just scratched our head. Each time, she checked out at 11, took her bag to her car in the parking lot, and rechecked in by 3PM. We didn't say anything at the time and despite these kind of mistakes (which would have never happened nor have they at any other Hilton I have been in or decent hotel for that matter) everyone had been very nice, decent breakfast, yes- the clocks were all wrong in every single of the many rooms we stayed in because we were constantly moved, the pillows were flat as pancakes, the towels scratchy and not sufficient, and the shampoo and soap bottles always empty, but no one had been rude. ( And if no one had been rude, I would have kept all of these true facts to myself. )So before I left, I went up to the front desk to be nice and let them know about the rooms-not wanting anything and assuming they had committed some unaware clueless and honest mistakes. The young woman was nice enough and got the very young "general manager." I approached him calmly and he continued to escalate things and be combative, explaining how it is completely normal to play musical rooms like that while in a hotel. It was honestly something I have never witnessed. We only wanted a, "I am so sorry; I didn't realize." He told me his name was "Justin Combs" and encouraged me to leave him a poor review. So until more training occurs, I would go to the Holiday Express down...

This was my second time staying at this location. I found it to be very much as most Hampton properties. The staff was friendly and helpful. As for the breakfast, it was a little lacking. The biscuits were very hard (even the microwave couldn't soften them up). As with most Hampton breakfast, powdered eggs and a very lacking selection breakfast offerings. The room was average. Nothing special, nothing terrible. I will say that the hotel cleaning staff needs to actually put the toilet brush back into the drainage whole to remove the build up there (other than that it was clean, it may be I was just a little picky, but it is not adding any extra time to do that as you are scrubbing the inside anyway). The water pressure was fine for the shower (I had plenty of hot water as well). The bathroom sink was slow to drain, which I did tell the front staff about when I checked out. One thing I will point out is that the room I stayed in still had carpet. I know a lot of the properties have been converting to a different type of flooring. The carpet was not dirty, but after so many carpet cleanings, it just has a funky feel to it, almost sticky and damp (I just kept my flip flops on and near the bed). The beds were comfortable and I was able to sleep fine. On thing to point out, is that like with all properties now, they have done away with curtains. It is just the roll down blind. This does not prevent outside light from coming in around the windows. The location is good. It shares the local grocery store parking lot. As for accessing restaurants, it is pretty close to several options. It is also very close to...

I took my mom to her 56 High School reunion in the area and chose to stay at the Hampton Inn in Hazard. First because of Hilton's usual excellence service and hotel. I will say that the check-in was a breeze and Jarrett was really sweet. He did all he could to try and help me out with the few situations that popped up (nothing major or that couldn't be resolved). In our room our microwave didn't function properly, I reported it, of course it was late and didn't ask for an immediate fix. I just used the one downstairs in the breakfast area. As for the rest of the room it was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the breakfast. To begin nothing was stocked. I get that the hotel had a lot of people staying, but the area looked to be lacking. The counters had not been wiped down. Food was out of stock and I never saw them bringing more out. The waffle station was a hot mess. The waffles were sticking, because they didn't set the spray out. Not to mention the waffle batter was a little too thick for coming out of the dispenser and for pouring out of the cup. The drink dispenser had the lines crossed or they put the wrong sign over the spigot. I went to apple juice and got strawberry kiwi water. There was not bread for toast, not biscuits and the gravy was like water. They did have eggs and sausage and yogurt. The cereal was empty as well. I did talk with the person inside the breakfast area and they did bring me a...
