Peking Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Hazard

First thing people should know about this Peking's in Hazard is that even though they advertise a buffet they no longer have one and probably won't be putting it back. Despite the restaurant saying it isn't safe to offer a buffet I really don't think it is due to the pandemic but I think they feel they can make more money without it. The other customers on their Facebook page seem to agree if you want to take the time to check it out. The only problem with that rationale is that there is another Chinese restaurant in town that does offer a buffet and people have been going there instead. It seems Peking's may be suffering from this because when my son and I were eating at this Peking's we were the only ones there and in the past this restaurant was usually crowded. We didn't even hear people calling in orders or see anyone pick up a order the whole time we were there. It is really a shame too because the food at Peking's is good but if your advertising your restaurant as a buffet then not have a buffet I think people gets turned off. My advice would be to just take the buffet off the door and menus. The waiter and waitress at Peking's are super nice as well and I would recommend this restaurant if you are wanting to just order off the menu. While on a spur of the moment trip through Appalachia we stopped in Hazard Friday evening to get some food before heading out to Buckhorn SP. SO glad we stopped here! They were out of snow peas so the lady suggested I try the Imperial Beef. It was amazing! The Shrimp Fried rice was the best I've EVER had! Hubby got the Sesame Chicken and loved it! He got Lo Mein and it was made from regular spaghetti pasta but was really good! We should have split a meal! We had WAY too much food and could not make ourselves throw it away so we packed it in the cooler and had it when we got back home and it was still yummy! I have been a loyal devoted customer and friend of Peking since they were downtown. Their food is hot, fresh and the highest quality. The staff is always kind and friendly and I enjoy the Chinese food because Peking strives to deliver authentic food and good experience to their customers. I have eaten at ever Chinese restaurant in Hazard Kentucky and other Chinese restaurants outside of the state of Kentucky.
