We just returned home from a 5 night stay at Mountain View. We stayed in the Family cabin. It looks small from the outside but that is deceptive and we actually had plenty of room inside for our family of 4.
Pros: Our 2 elementary aged girls loved sleeping in the loft and it was just the right size for them to sleep there together. For bigger kids, it might be a bit tight. It was convenient to cook in the kitchenette and we enjoyed eating out on our own private deck and sitting around our private fire pit every night. Also, since the cabins are up on a hill, the view is spectacular. The kids loved that Mountain View has a pool. Many cabins in the area don't offer a pool. Also, the location is very central to all the attractions in the area, which was super convenient.
Cons: We did notice a few things in the cabin that were broken or could be updated and we mentioned them to management. There is no housekeeping service, though they will bring you fresh towels each morning if you need them. The staff was friendly though one gal seemed put off every time we had a request. Also the drive up to the cabins is steep and narrow. We never encountered another vehicle going up or down but if you did, it could get tricky as there's no room to pass each other or pull off.
All in all, the cabins are not super fancy but they are comfortable, convenient and for the price we paid, the quiet and the view, I...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Mountain View Lodge for 3 nights, and I must say it was a lovely experience. As a first-time visitor to the area, having come for a wedding, I was impressed by the lodge's warm hospitality. The owners' kindness and willingness to cater to my needs were outstanding. They have a lovely deck where you can sit in the evenings and enjoy a beverage and visit with others staying or just quietly take in the view.
The lodge's simple, no-frills approach was actually a major draw for me, as I was seeking a more local, down-to-earth experience rather than a luxurious hotel stay. If you prefer authentic, personalized experiences when traveling, Mountain View Lodge excelled at this.
The location can be quite pleasant, despite the noise from traffic during the day when sitting outside, which is expected due to its proximity to a main road. However, the atmosphere transforms in the evenings. The second-floor deck is particularly enjoyable, offering a serene experience while sitting out.
I have already begun considering returning to the area with my family and would definitely choose to stay at this lodge again. The exceptional service, from the owners to the cleaning staff, and even the owner's dog, made my stay excellent.
Thank you, Melissa and Kerry. Keep doing what...
Read moreRooms were clean, nice towels and bed, the woman owner seemed nice and called day of to see what time we might be coming. End of good review. Room NOT as described. Description online said pool view, mountain view and balcony with fire place. We had neither. I paid extra for the King Suite. It was just a small room with a King bed. We had a view of the parking lot, bumpers and windshields. Since we were ground floor right in front of the parking lot we had to keep the curtains closed because everyone could see right in. Description said breakfast included but found out day of check in that meant bagels and other snack foods. That is not breakfast. To top it off the male owner saw my husband day after check in and asked how it was. My husband said you really don't want to know the owner said yes I do and as soon my husband started to tell him the owner got defensive and that conversation went no where. So since there was nothing to see or do in the room we were only there for sleeping. And any money were thought we were going to save on breakfast we didn't. I thought I was getting a luxury room that we could spend time and enjoy breakfast in the morning. I was disappointed. I could have paid way less if that was...
