Sept 4th- Sept 7th: My husband and I had to travel to Hobbs for a funeral service for a family member and decided to stay at this Hilton for the restaurant and the hot tub. I read the reviews and to be honest, I should have listened because our room was covered in ants after only one night. When we woke up on the morning of the service our bags, clothes, and bedside tables were crawling in ants. There was nothing we could do because we had to go to the service. When we returned my husband took his glass " covered in ants" to the front desk and set it on the counter. He explained that we had been dealing with this situation all night/ morning. The ladies working the front desk appeared surprised and disgusted. We requested a cancellation for the reservation and a refund for the stay which they promptly provided. It took about 2 hours to pull each item out from our bags to remove the ants. Never did they offer any type of compensation for this hardship. It was bad enough that we were going to be stuck in hobbs for a funeral and now we didn't even have a hotel. I even lost my Hilton Honors points. I can't believe we had to go through this horrible experience all while dealing with the passing of a loved one. I was greatful for the full refund but would have been much happier paying the full price and been able to enjoy the stay without the infestation. And even worse, after we left, we were so worried we would bring the ants with us when staying with our family who was nice enough to open their home to us. This was a horrible experience. This Hilton was by far the worst Hilton we have ever had the misfortune of staying at. Please listen to these reviews and run don't walk away from this hotel! Something to think about, Hobbs is full of oilfield workers who have to stay at these hotels for work. They do not have much of a choice. All of the hotel reviews in this town were full of bad reviews. Trust me when I say I spent a whole week looking for the " least bad" hotel. Unfortunately, these hotels will always be in business regardless of how poorly they are ran or the condition of the rooms because of the oilfield workers keeping them in business. If your visiting Hobbs just save you money and stay with friends or family. At least you'll have better...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible customer service. Customer service recommended and told me a military price that I was guaranteed but upon checking out the next morning I realized that they charged me full price and when I went to go get it fixed, I was told that the hotel was sold out and I shouldn’t have gotten a military price even though I walked in from the street and got a room which made absolutely no sense .The manager there was very unprofessional she would not get on the phone so she had her front desk clerk send me all the information via yelling, completely unprofessional, and I still did not get my refund very nice hotel, but they need to completely change management and get new management or else they will lose more business because I will no longer stay there. I filed a formal complaint because now I was treated with disrespect ,I was lied to multiple times even after presenting countless emails and recordings to headquarters so once I get done with the investigation, I hope to either get my refund back or there will be some type of agreement and understanding that you cannot, give a customer a price, but then charge them completely different as false advertisement and that’s fraud. I also and dated the names of the individuals I spoke with, and their names were also submitted to headquarters. I choose not to include them in the review because that to me is unprofessional, but I hope headquarters does do something about this because it makes the hotel look so bad , it is a beautiful hotel and it’s really easy for management and customer service to ruin an image...
Read moreThe hotel is beautiful! But the people, the workers, the service, is trash I have never been so discriminated against so bullied so bombarded. It felt like something out of a movie. The staff is not nice. They don't expect for people to be able to afford or have luxury they question you why you stay there at every turn. Every time I would enter or exit a room somebody would ask me for my room number, as if I couldn't afford to stay at the Hilton garden inn the breakfast stuff was horrible they screamed at me they yelled at me they (this is all on camera by the way) as I was trying to get my breakfast in front of a bunch of people they came out yelled at me said that I didn't have breakfast. It was the most embarrassing thing that I've ever felt the office staff equally treated me as horribly I guess because I was of the African-American descent they automatically wanted to call the police because I wasn't supposed to be there. The sad thing is I'm here for a funeral and a business trip. As beautiful as thehotel is I would recommend for somebody to stay on marland which is one of the more dangerous sides of town than to spend money and deal with hateful staff on a better...
