The front desk staff was very friendly at check in and check out. The website says free hot breakfast, but we were informed there is no breakfast whatsoever. We originally booked two nights, we ended up only staying one. The front desk was accommodating and refunded the second night. The room itself was terrible. It was not really clean at all. The sheets smelled hotel clean and that was about it. The walls and door frames were grimy. There was some unknown substance on the sink counter (see pics), my husband grabbed the knob on the bed post to help himself stand up. He took off to the sink gagging and swore he put his hand on what felt like seemen. The tub was dingy and the shower head looked like it hadn't been cleaned in some years, there was mold growing in several places in the restroom. I have worked in the hospitality industry in the past. Wiping walls, art work, and bed frames were required between each stay. Taking shower heads off and soaking them were done monthly. Aside from the dingy room the bed was the worst I'd ever slept on. The box spring was maybe 4 inches in height and the mattress was past worn out. If my husband or myself moved the slightest bit the whole mattress would wobble like a raft on a chopy sea. Also, you could feel every sping in the box spring while laying on the mattress. In all honesty I've slept more comfortably in a sleeping bag inside of a tent. There are probably much better areas of town to stay in as well, the area this hotel is located in doesn't feel safe at all. I was worried about my car being broken into, or stolen. We did not try the restaurant while we were here, we didn't feel it was safe to, with the cleanliness of the rooms being what it was. I will say the most positive part of our stay was the front desk staff. They told us a few good restaurants in town we could get breakfast since they do not offer breakfast in any way on property. The staff was friendly about us canceling our second night.

Clean room but it smelled like cigarettes and weed when we walked in. Nothing was wrong with it. Just smelled. Lol. The front office was kind of cold when we spoke to them. But, the maintenance guy was very helpful. My van broke down & he helped us out. All in all, not a bad experience.

Good for the price. Like the fact they have 2 places to eat inside the hotel. Both good...steakhouse on the upper side of price...but great food. Make reservations. Taqueria is also good..much mote more reasonable priced. Also bar...gets busy on the weekends.

I stayed here on New Years Eve to attend a party thrown at the bar in the hotel with a friend from Hobbs. The hotel is somewhat drab in appearance, old white hotel which looks like it had better days. The lobby is open with a restaurant attached and a bar next to it. I did not eat at the restaurant but did manage to get into the bar for the nights festivities. The bar itself was an old style bar with a dance floor in the middle and some music played by two nice country boys who did a pretty good job of keeping things moving. Overall I had a good time there, it was nothing special in the bar but just what you would expect in Hobbs. Sort of dingy, dimly lit so as not to disturb anyone and no smoking in the bar which was nice.||||On to the room itself. Upon opening the room it was nice sized, had a king bed, a little fridge and a bathroom. The room was average at best with very dusty curtains, really dusty! You wouldn't want to open them as you would have to take a shower with your clothes on ......and shoes. Shoes you say? The bathroom was average sized with a tub and sink, the tub was filthy, I mean plain dirty. I wouldn't wash your dog in there let alone myself. I understand this is an old place but a little cleaning wouldn't hurt. ||||The bed was comfortable enough, and it was a no smoking room. It had been smoked in for a long time as the stench from the smoke was throughout the hotel. Both my partner and I woke up with stuffed up sinuses which didn't clear up for a week after we left. If you are sensitive you might not want to stay here no matter what the room says about smoking. ||||Would I stay here again? Probably not in my...

We stayed in Hobbs, New Mexico because we were going to the Carlsbad Caverns in Carlsbad, New Mexico. To stay in Carlsbad, it cost a little more than we were willing to spend, so we decided to stay in a city close by that would have cheaper rooms. So Hobbs it was. We googled motels there and found out that most were on a street called Marland Blvd. This is were all the less than $100 motels are. Anyway, we pulled into Hobbs around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. The first place we checked wanted $85. Hobbs Family Inn was across the street from them and they wanted $65. We decided to keep looking and ended up checking into another place for $40. Later that night we spotted a roached in the bathroom and asked for our money back. Then we drove around for about an hour looking for another place. Finally I suggested that we check out Hobbs Family Inn. It turned out to be a decent place. The room was clean, furniture was modern and appealing to the eye. The carpet was decent looking as well. And in the morning you get breakfast at their restaurant. Eggs to order, pancakes, sausage or bacon, and hash browns. Not bad for $65.||And if you are a vet, AARP, or senior, you can get a discount. Always ask about discounts...
