I have stayed @ Hooker Inn several times in the last year, and it is always clean and orderly, with low rates (cash price currently: $40 single/ $50 double) for the rooms, weekly rates available upon request, large comfortable beds with clean linens.
Each room has it's own Dish Network® receiver hooked to a reasonable 32 inch flat panel TV that has additional HDMI inputs for your laptop or camcorder. There is a remote for the heating and air conditioning so you don't have to get up to make adjustments to be comfortable.
The Vanity is well lit, with hair dryers in most rooms.
Rooms come equiped with a personal size refrigerator and microwave for your convenience.
Each room has a different layout, so if you tell the manager what feature is most important you can get the best room for your needs. When you come back you can try another room or request one you know you like.
Sadly, no pets allowed inside rooms at this time.
This is good for those who may be allergic to pet dander... You shouldn't have to worry about pet allergies.
Personally, I wish they would make 2 rooms with tile floors and allow pets in just those rooms to cater to those travelling with pets. I am sure the owner will read this and consider it, so keep an eye on my review, or call the owner and request they make allowances for a room or two that allow pets... If you don't let them know, they have no reason to make changes for you.
I hear the parking lot blacktop will be resurfaced this year. It isn't bad yet, but it will look nicer with a fresh coat of asphalt.
Overall, this is the place to stay if you want quiet, clean, and inexpensive accommodation on your way through the panhandle. Liberal and Guymon motels cost more and do not give better value.
I posted this review March 10th 2018.
If you look at my other reviews as a Google Guide you will see I review based on my actual experiences, always with clear and meaningful photos, and I don't pull any punches: if a place isn't up to my standards, I tell you plainly why.
Thanks for...
Read moreThe owner of the hotel answered every time I called and made sure I answered all my questions even when he wasn’t at the hotel himself. David, at the front office is very nice and a pleasure to work with as well, he explained things clearly to me and any questions I had he answered them clearly. Yes next to the railroad tracks with trains coming or going, but given its location, it’s perfect for what I needed. Get some rest, shower and take a break off the road. I would say it’s a no frills kinda place, but it’s more than that and you can tell as the owner is putting so much work into it. Fresh paint made bed, toiletries and towels all in order. No point in complaining about something I have no control over (nor does the motel ie. train) my overall experience was fantastic definitely will stay here again if I’m in the area and feeling tired. Very reasonable price for...
Read moreI had been driving for hundreds of miles when i began to get sleepy during the night. I looked up possible accommodations for the evening & came across the reviews for this motel. Though we stopped well after midnight, the owner very kindly greeted us & provided us a room for a very fair amount considering how late in the night it already was! Room was perfectly clean & everything we needed for our very short rest stop-over. My girlfriend is extremely picky about where we stay, along with the quality of the places we stop; she was every bit as satisfied as i was with this motel gem!! Highly recommended & will look forward to stopping over for a stay again in the...
