The rooms and location are very nice. one massive problem however; the sliding doors do not lock whatsoever. they have a wood board to keep it from being opened past a foot, but that was it. we took this to the office and were told that all the rooms were like that, hence the wood board. I was there with my little sister and her friend (both minors) and all of us being women, we did not feel safe at night, at all. someone from a neighboring room could have just walked over to our deck and opened the door if they pleased. there was no solution offered, nor did it sound like they were planning to fix said doors. beyond that the stay would've been really nice, but everytime we left we had to hide our important belongings and at night, we locked our bedroom doors because we were fearful that someone could get into our room so easily. I am beyond disappointed because me and my family used to stay there all the time and that was not the case but I don't think we will be going back after this.
As I cannot respond to the response I will put this here. Yes there are locks on the sliding doors. but they do not work. whatsoever. at least in the room we were in. (7 I believe.) I opened the door to see that there was actually a latch to the lock. there is. however it does not actually latch onto the door frame to lock it. yes the boards keep it from opening all the way but it opens a good foot I'd say before the board stops it. I'm disappointed that this has been the response to such a problem, as I was in charge of two teenage girls i think I was very right to be alarmed. We did go to the desk to ask about it but the front desk said, and I quote "the locks are like that on all of the rooms, that's why we have the boards." it was not a backup. it was the only lock. I have no reason to want to give this inn a bad review, it actually deeply saddens me to have to, as my family have gone here for years and maybe we didn't test it before, but I will thoroughly miss going, but I don't feel safe there with the security measures in place. If you do end up going, I suggest getting a second level room as those at least have their own balconies not accessible...
Read moreI would say Pacific Beach Inn is a 2.5-star property, perfectly comfortable but not quite 3-star luxury. It has completely fulfilled my expectations, so I gave it a 5-star review. ||||We stayed in room 5 on the ground floor. Free, off-street parking, although the town is quiet and I wouldn’t have minded having to park on the street. Free wi-fi is not speedy, but to be expected in this remote location. The beds are soft and comfy. The linens are nice and blankets were appropriate for the temperature. The wall heater warmed the room quickly and we only used it briefly before we got too warm (this was July). The furnishings are solid and not tacky. The carpet is ugly, but it is the beach and I’ll give them a pass for practicality on the carpet. The ADA bathroom is roomy and I love the grab bars in the tub. The cork floor in the bathroom feels great on the feet. We have a table that seats 3 with kitchenette (includes toaster, microwave and tall mini-fridge), place settings for four, and a wooden cart with a laminated wood top. ||||Except for the thinness of the walls and being able to hear too much of what was going on upstairs, the area is very quiet and there is a coffee shop, gas station, and convenience store within the block. The wide, sandy, long beach is a short walk down the street. Seabrook is a 10-minute drive to the south. We enjoyed the wood-fired pizza at Frontager’s in Seabrook. Lake Quinault and the Olympic National Park is 45 minutes to the north, and the Olympic beaches are 75 minutes to the north. Ruby Beach is 2 hours north. ||||We enjoyed our stay over the Fourth of July holiday weekend--there were lots of fireworks, but I am not a big fan of fireworks and there is always too many for me. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We will definitely consider staying again when we are...
