It was a nice stay overall. I have stayed in many hotels, this was one of the more updated, well maintained, and cleanly places I have stayed. I found it a little frustrating that the 2nd floor has no access to vending machines or ice, you have to go to the 1st or 3rd floor for these amenities, it wasn’t a deal breaker. I was surprised to find the “rarely inspected” places clean and dust free. Places like hard to reach heights, tops of pic frames, top of headboard (easily 7’ or higher off the floor), and under the bed or beyond the bed skirt were all nice and clean - white glove test would have been no issue. This speaks to the overall cleaning regiment and care the management and staff has for the details. Places like toilet crevices and areas behind and under were all clean and free of dust/debris - something that cannot be said in many places. The room was maintained, items often found lacking in maintenance and upkeep like wall/ceiling patches, rusting fixtures, things needing paint and touch-up, etc were all taken care of - again, speaking to the care taken by staff and their overall cleanliness and attention to detail. If you get super picky you can find some areas that will need attention at some point, but you REALLY HAVE TO LOOK, which is not common in most establishments today. Typically, you can spot one or two items that need maintenance, touch up, or general attention within a few minutes of searching - it took some time to find the slightest imperfection. The staff was nice, although she didn’t give detailed directions as to where the room was it isn’t exactly a “maze” of rooms and hallways either... LOL I found it comforting to have an area in the back thats well lit and secure enough to confidently park an open motorcycle trailer overnight. The grounds appeared to be pretty well maintained. All doors were locked and not accessible without a key card, except the front desk, and there are a few places close by to have late night access to food, gas, personal items, etc. Although heading South, there’s not much to accommodate travelers, a short drive North (3-5 mins) will put you in Sturgis, Michigan, and there are 24hr Gas Stations available, Fast Food, a WalMart, and more. Although it is not as close as most exits - which typically have a Gas Station or 24/7 Convenience Store right near the exit - it is not an overly long drive to access these either. They do have a Pool, which I did not venture into to be able to review, a fitness center - which staff did mention and tell me about, and they do provide breakfast the following morning which is included in the nightly rate. The overall cost of the stay was a total of $100 for one night, a Sunday night, and seemed fairly in line with typical chain hotels in regions/areas like this. They do offer some discounts for various memberships like AAA or AARP (I don’t know if they accept those specifically or what discounts they provide, only that she asked if I was a member and said I could receive a discount for certain memberships), they also have a loyalty program if you stay at this chain often, and they also offer a 10% discount for Military (Active or not), which is always nice to see. Again, overall I would say there is not much that’s controllable that could have made my stay any more comfortable or accommodating, the staff so far was pleasant and helpful, the items in the room all worked without fail, the room and grounds were all clean and well kept, the area feels secure and safe, it is well lit, you don’t feel uncomfortable or uneasy when arriving late at night or about leaving a vehicle or trailer with your valuables in the parking lot, and the price point was fair and competitive for what you get. I would recommend to friends or family, and I would stay again given the...
Read moreUnbelievable customer service with a positive “can do” attitude. We had reservations for a Kitchenette Suite, 2 Queen Beds, Sofa-bed, with attached room, sleeps 6. Upon are arrival we were told elevator had broke in the morning waiting on repair parts, would not be fixed for a few days. This was a bombshell for our weekend getaway. There was no way being 80 with bad knees and back, I could walk three flight of stairs to our suite. We were in luck, Mr Derek was working front desk. He immediately contacted manager Ms Grace who comp us a King room with jacuzzi on first floor for myself and wife at “no charge”. The other four younger people had no problem walking stairs. Rest of our stay was wonderful, room was spacious, clean quiet, (no road noise at all), extremely conformable. breakfast was yummy for the tummy. House keeping available in morning for additional needs. Night staff, Ms Dawn and Ms Angela helpful with all are questions and needs. Highly recommend Best Western Plus Hotel,...

Ironing board had a piece of metal sticking through it. Ripped my shirt. Not even an apology. Several days missed cleaning my room.
Three week stay and would not allow a later check out for anything short of paying for an added night's stay; even for BW awards member. Said they were full. Later learned that not to be true.
Said they had the same pricing as Priceline - not true. Magnetic keys frequently faulty. Requested a king room. Said there were none available; during the entire 3 week stay? More likely than not, not available to travel site customers.
Sarah and Derek were very pleasant. Hotel is clean. Some of the furniture is dated and dysfunctional. Breakfast was adequate. Not many healthy choices.
Corporate stay I would have to rethink before going back. Would not recommend. Too rigid and bureaucratic. Definitely not a 3 star property as advertised. WiFi glacially slow and new password requirement...
