American Inn Lodging — Hotel in Sturgis Township

This motel was heaven sent. Jessica and Tyrone, the managers, live on the property and were very helpful and encouraging. They made us feel comfortable and at home. We stayed 6 weeks while waiting to move into the home we bought. The room was spacious. There was a queen bed, a dresser, night stand, smart TV, a microwave, and a mini fridge. To help us feel more like being at home, we were allowed to bring our 2 recliners and my husband's mattress. He has back issues, and this stay would have been unbearable without these. We have 2 dogs, that were welcomed as the family they are. The pet fee was reasonable. The weekly rate is unbeatable. The water pressure was awesome, and there was always hot water, which was important to me as i loved a hot relaxing bath. Since there are quite a few long stay guests, it felt more like a community than a motel. As excited as we are to be in our home, we definitely miss the awesome environment we experienced here. I came north for work and was undecided as to were I wanted to live. I stayed here for close to 2 months at a very reasonable rate for the size of the room. The Family that runs the place are very sweet.

I was staying alone and in a strange place and never once did I feel afraid as they do not allow any questionable people to stay there.

At one point the manager said most people wouldn't ask this but why do you continued to stay here? As I could of rented a house for what I was paying them. I told him I'm just not sure where I want to be yet and I feel safe here.

The rooms are nice size there is ample room to put clothing and the microwave and mini fridge were a bonus given the length of my stay. Overall a very nice experience for the money. Some others in the area that rent rooms by the week don't hold a candle to this place. I went and looked at all of them before I made my choice. The others were dumps.

Many of the people I met while I was there were People that come back yr after yr for the value and the nice peaceful experience.

So I stayed here last night, me and my girlfriend just wanted to get out of town and spend a nice relaxing evening away the night before her birthday, it was great....until we woke up and got ready to leave and realized my keys and wallet were missing. We know we had it in check in because I paid, know we for sure seen my keys on the table the night before were my wallet was laid down as well. Just so happens that there is another door to the back hallway right by the table that the owner has access to only, very quiet door that he came thru when we were checking out and didn't even hear open, this man came in and took my wallet while I was sleeping with all my cash in it and everything else.DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A EXPERIENCE AT BATES MOTEL!!!
