Holiday Inn Express Howe (Sturgis, MI) by IHG — Hotel in Howe

The best in the area. Staff is amazing! Breakfast is excellent and very well kept stocked. Pool is always nice and clean. Workout center clean and updated. Nice area for your animal to run. Truck parking makes it nice for the truckers. Gas station within walking distance to grab soda snacks. Middle of the night vending at front desk. Rooms are kept up very clean and updated! The smell is clean, not just in your room, but the whole hotel is always fresh and clean smell as it smells when the building is new. This is an everyday smell throughout the building. The hotel is run by locals that's live around the area and are helpful with directions. Buisness area with a computer open to guest and a printer have your own laptop area you are anle to charge and get your work done. All rooms have also a deck with a desk light and plenty of spots to plug in your devices. Forgwt your charging box no need for it plug your cord right into the wall. Alram clocks are in every room. The TV is a nice size hanging on a wall flat screen. Nice size rooms all have microwaves, keurig coffee makers, and a mini fridge. The bathroom they have dove handwash, dove lotion, dove shampoo, and conditioner. There is no need to worry about the small bottles that aren't going to be enough to wash one person's hair. These are full-size bottles attached inside the showers hand soap and lotion attached to the wall by sink. Water is soft and gets hot. Every bathroom has an updated hair dyer with separate hair towels from body towels, wash cloth , and hand towels ! 9 hotels in the area, hands down, this particular one is the one to reserve your room at. Maintenance is kept up. I have never seen anything broken for longer than a few hours. Enjoy your stay with great people !...

I say amazzzzing because how often do we sleep well when we're away from home? Not sure about anyone else, but me not often enough!

The staff, (I'd give names but there were too many to keep up with). Yes, that is the first and foremost reason for this fantastic review.

Because without a plentiful staff, you get less than stellar service. They we're friendly from the moment I walked through the door. Room was the perfect temperature, clean, fresh and stocked! Of course we know that's the way it should be. However, there are too

many occasions I can think of that that was not the case. NEVER happened at The Holiday Inn Express, EVER! Pool and area were clean and stocked with fresh towels, beds we're incredibly comfortable with full size cozy pillows and bathrooms were fully stocked. In addition they welcome you to request items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, razor etc via a little note card on the bathroom counter. You get what you pay for but then sometimes you're lucky enough to get the best service and quality for your dollar. I've made the conscious decision to never stay at a different hotel. As long as Holiday Inn Express is available. As far as I'm concerned, there is no room for improvement, because sometimes trying to improve, leads to unnecessary stress on the wonderful employees you already have! Guests are guests. Perhaps they complain about one thing or another. What people need to realize is whatever they are feeling or situation they may be going through has a lot to do with what they think they want or need. Bottom line, loved my stay, will always recommend and will keep going back! Thank you to ALL the staff at Holiday Inn...

On Sunday, 7/25, we were traveling in our motorhome from Buffalo, NY to Oshkosh, WI. We had engine trouble and needed a tow. The tow truck driver that picked us up was using a truck that was too small for our big RV. In a construction zone about a mile from the Holiday Inn Express, he lost control, went off the road, and our motorhome snapped off the tow truck, and fell into a ravine on the side of the road. Our motorhome was totaled, and we weren't able to get any of our stuff out for 24 hours. When we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express a few hours later (about 1:30 am!) with only the clothes we were wearing, the staff took excellent care of us! Colleen at the front desk gave us toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs and deoderant. She also gave us her personal cell phone number and said she would be happy to help us any way she could! The next day, we were miraculously able to rent a car nearby, and Dave the maintenance man offered to drive us to go pick it up! The daytime front-desk staff were similarly helpful and comforting! We had to stay a second night, and everyone we encountered was great.

The hotel was clean and quiet. The staff helped us through a very difficult situation and we really appreciated that!! I would highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in...
