No frills hotel. I just needed a cheap room for a few nights for a conference, and as a Wyndam Rewards member, I chose this one. This hotel's greatest assets are not the facilites (which were not the greatest) but their very friendly and helpful staff. The room was not great, but not the worst either. Threadbare blanket, very uncomfortable mattress, nearly non-existent wi-fi (on an open network! yikes!), a room phone that had no wire on it...just sitting there like retro decor I guess...and generally dingy looking. However, I knew I wasn't staying at the Ritz ;), and the lack of wi-fi was very helpful to my productivity - I nearly finished my next book! yay! I wasn't in the room much at all for Thursday and Friday, so that helped. I dragged my camping pad that I leave in my trunk into the room, and slept on that over the mattress along with my bedroll since the blanket was so thin. Look, if you're thinking of staying here it's the Travelodge, not the Hilton. It's in a nice-ish area. There's a starbucks nearby. It's cheap. You get what...
Read moreThe best things I can say about this Travelodge are that it is conveniently located and the guy at the front desk was very nice and seemed very honest. Beyond that, it was pretty much downhill. This has the potential to be a very nice property. I fully understand that in the current economy it's extremely difficult to turn a profit on any business. The floor hadn't been vacuumed because there were toe nails and a remenent sock on the floor near the bed. The old adage comes to my mind "penny wise and dollar foolish". My concern is that if this hotel doesn't take care of the details and do a more thorough job of cleaning, Wyndham will pull their franchise and then they'll really ride the struggle bus. Bottom line unless you're willing to stay in a sub par hotel with some safety issues, you're probably going to want to...

Have been staying at travelodge hudsonville every so often, for 17 years.I work directly across the street and have always been given a decent CDL discount up until this last visit.I checked in for two nights at double the price i usually pay.7:30 AM,on the second morning. My brother had gotten up to get some breakfast. So the door wasnt deadbolted when he left.Do-not disturb sign was hung outside.I was awaken to the door opening with a key,not a card, and when he realized the room was occupied he asked if I had checked out yet.I said its only 7:30,check outs at 11:00 and hell no I had NOT checked out yet.I confronted them about the early wake up and they blamed the mix up on another guest had given them the wrong room number upon check out. They told me they had the right to enter my room at anytime and it was an "honest" mistake. Not even a knock at the door first, just barged in.Lets me know how SECURE I can feel at this place. Will not stay...
