I can’t believe how filthy this new chipotle is. We moved to the area from the west coast. And as we visited many chipotles around the areas and saw how unsanitary the serving station was, we thought, Ok maybe it’s just an older location. But still we walked out because the area they served the food was so unsanitary. This Hudsonville location is brand new and we walked in today (April 16 and it was not busy at all, no lines at all, and maybe 2 people sitting down to eat) in hopes to find better conditions. But nope. I don’t know who is training these employees. If I was a manager of this location, I don’t know how they can let this happen. Where is Gordon Ramsey when we need him (kitchen nightmares anyone?) But they need to go through training on how to keep the serving and food area clean. The counter where the food was being made had food everywhere. Like a toddler fixing their food and just throwing it around everywhere and leaving it. But I shouldn’t even say that because I’m sure my toddler is a lot tidier than what I have seen in this location and many other locations in the area. All the food was all smeared on the counters. The food looked unappealing and gross and crusted over. I can’t believe the quality in this brand new location. We have lived here for 2 years and have yet to find a chipotle that is clean and the food is properly stored and presented. Unacceptable! And even if it’s busy, there should be a standard of how to do things properly and be clean. So many other food locations who serve food who can maintain cleanliness even during their busiest. And there are other chipotle locations (not here obviously) that can maintain a clean serving area and restaurant. I have already reached out to corporate and they are investigating why the branches in Michigan are like this. And it’s not just this location. But many locations like Grandville and Kentwood and Grand Rapids. Check thier google reviews. There are pictures. So very disappointing. But anyways. We walked out...

Chipotle Honey Chicken Burrito - $11.95: Amazing! HUGE! (800g/1.75lbs, yes I weighed it)
The Chipotle Honey Chicken was good. I didn’t notice the unique flavor, but I think that was because the spice I ordered with it dominated. The black beans were good quality. The Tomatillo-Red Chili Salsa was thoroughly spicy throughout the whole ordeal. I ordered sour cream and that probably made it messier with the rest. The Queso Blanco was my favorite addition! The fresh tomato salsa was fresh. The romaine lettuce was delicious, but added difficulty to eating it without it sliding around. The Fajita Veggies were grilled nicely. The brown rice was hearty and added great texture. I had it double wrapped and that not only helped keep it together solidly, but added to the flavor nicely.
Overall, the burrito was solid, hearty, and had a healthy yet uncompromisingly good flavor.
Chips & Queso Blanco - $4.65: Fresh and light house made chips. The chips were on the saltier side, but good. The queso cheese was zesty, mildly spicy, and delicious. You get 4 oz of chips and 4 oz of cheese which is just about the right ratio.
Work catered for us and they got our order spot on. This location very recently opened and they are very much on top of things!
Conclusion: I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for take out. The burrito was amazing!
Work catered our order over lunch...
