All in all a really nice place to stay. You can be "up front" or "in the woods". Up front is similar to your basic rv campground. Lots side by side with maybe a tree, maybe not, a picnic table and a fire ring. Your all neighbors up there. In the woods is right across the street from the up front lots. A couple of the roads are crumbly and a little rough, but all the spaces are set between trees and further apart. There aren't too many spaces for extra large rv's in the woods area, so book early. The bathrooms were CLEAN! So clean. Most places barely clean when it's busy, much less the dead time of year. The showers were kind of small, but the water was hot and the water pressure was nice. The only issue I had here was the shower curtains. There were 2 in each stall. One for the shower water, and one after that for your "dressing area" the only problem was that neither one was big enough to cover the entire width of the stall opening. I showered after dark, and though the windows were above my head, I felt like I could be seen from the outside should someone want to grab a chair and peek in. There isn't a dog park here, but there were places to walk your dogs. We walked the neighborhood and it was a nice, beautiful walk with views of the lake and huge houses. The dock was under construction when we arrived. It looked like they were making it a very nice area I can't wait to see upon completion should I ever return to this area of the country. If/when I return to Charlotte, I would book here again. It took about 30 minutes to get...
Read moreThis park is beautiful! But.... these reviews are about the camping. Lots of things to do here. Boating, fishing, beach, volleyball, biking and on and on. BUT the camping is a bit on the downside. This can be a beautiful place to camp, but it needs a lot of TLC. From what I was told, they do have plans to do some work around the park. Including doing away with site 24 which is the site I had and was TERRIBLE. I have a 20-foot camper and I barely fit. The passenger side is to the road, so when the stairs were down, they were almost IN the road. The other side was a swamp where the sewer is. We left a day early because it was going to rain, and it was already a swamp. The other sites are okay but close. If activities is what you like, then this park is for you. We enjoyed the many parks and areas to ride our ebikes. They have a beautiful semicircular pier with swings and picnic tables. My husband used the showers and said the pressure and heat were good, but they definitely need an updating. The internet was terrible. But TV...
Read moreThis is such a lovely campground. We stayed in site 34, which is on the more wooded side of the campground (the other side (to the right after the entrance) has less surrounding nature)). I recommend the more wooded side!
There are a couple small walking paths in the campground and there’s a nearby neighborhood (within walking distance) on the lake that we liked walking our dogs through.
The campsites are well kept, as are the fire pits, trash cans, and bath houses. The shower was hot and had great pressure—although I do agree with the other reviewer that the shower curtains were too small for comfort.
The area by the lake near the campground was still under construction as of January 2021, but it looks like it’ll be nice. All in all, the place is great, everyone was super kind, and we would definitely...
