Absolutely amazing place to stay with tons of local activities on and off site. To start this book of a review.. The staff was amazing, unfortunately they were forced to wear masks... enough already corporate!!! Now for the superstars from our stay.. Angie at the front desk was amazing. Before we arrived she was helpful by sending pics of the menus and answering a million questions! She ensures me the roads would were cleared daily. So getting there was no problem, parking was a breeze, and while the snow piled up the team kept it clear! Both the city roads parking lot! Let’s talk about the lobby and breakfast area! It’s the season for everything Christmas! The hotel did an immaculate job keeping the holiday spirit alive and well! The decorations were amazing and the kids loved the Christmas tree! Now the bar and pool table were amazing. The food was to die for! Our favorite was the chicken fried steak and the kids loved the flatbread cheese pizza.. In my opinion all under priced!!! Compliments to Chef Josh who was incredible friendly and deserves to be a world renowned chef! He went out of his way to make me a birthday cake... which I loved and the kids loved a little more!! Speaking of pool table... the swimming pool was huge with tons of shallow area for the kids.. talk about a great and convenient design! Now the hot tub.. as it sits out side and is surrounded by snow.. It was a totally unique and amazing experience to watch it snow all while staying warm. Another couple team members I wanted to sat thank you too are Melissa at the front desk and Lyn. Melissa was exceptionally helpful and quick to help! Lyn was the glue that brought the whole experience together for us! She truly made the stay one we will never forget! Thank you Lyn!! Nowfor the room, they are huge and have a bit of the Residence Inn concept and feeling. Super comfy beds, trendy decor, super big showers, a dining table, bring your own dishes and food, the fridge is full size! Two bedroom two bathroom set up and huge windows over looking the river! It’s a scene straight out of a lifetime Christmas movie! Special shout of to Bridger for taking a video of our kids sledding for the hotels social media pages! And thanks for the baskets of goodies as well!!
So if your thinking of staying anywhere in West Yellow Stone or Island Springs... stay here! You’re in...
Read moreI stayed at this location and chose it as my base location for my visit to Yellowstone National Park. Location: Because I wanted to stick to Marriott, I thought the location being a bit further south to West Yellowstone would be ok. However, in reality it adds 20-30mins of extra commute to the west entrance. Plus, with the unfavorable experience (see below), I felt I didn't make the right choice. Staff: The staff (front desk/ kitchen etc.) is cordial and tries to help as much as they can. Food: The complimentary breakfast was adequate but the exact same for throughout my 5 days of stay. Kind of wish there were more options or changes once in a while. Housekeeping: This is where my stay left an unfavorable experience. I stayed for 5 nights and during my entire stay my room was cleaned once and that too after I made multiple requests and expressed my dissatisfaction. I requested a cleaning on the 3rd day- Only towels were replaced. Requested cleaning on the 4th day- No cleaning was done. I was staying with a toddler and the bedsheets were unclean, the bathroom floor was sticky and even the basic toiletries like bar soap, lotion etc. weren't replaced. I expressed my dissatisfaction and to the staffs credit, they were empathetic and finally on the 5th day the room was cleaned. I was told the General Manager offered 5000 bonus points (which I haven't seen getting credited yet) but bonus points doesn't fix the unpleasant and frustrating experience we had. When customers book at a Marriott hotel, they expect above average amenities, above average cleanliness etc. and coming back to an unclean room after a hectic day in the park, after paying a lot of money soured my stay and having to deal with this somewhat frustrating experience with the hotel made a dent in our overall experience of the Yellowstone park...
Read moreAfter spending almost a year planning for this trip for 51 guests, we finally made it to Yellowstone National Park. Since I only use Marriott properties, I quickly settled on the Springhill Suites in Island Park. First impressions are lasting impressions and Elizabeth Graves, my sales manager, set the tone for excellence in all aspects of this awesome experience. She was attentive to my questions (and I had plenty). Having absolutely no idea about the area, she was attentive to my needs which I truly appreciate. Actually she made me look like I knew what I was doing. 🤣 My guests referred to the location as being in the “Boonies” but quickly discovered this location was perfect. The food services were impressive, the front desk staff was exceptional, and housekeeping was remarkable. I was most impressed with how easy Elizabeth made the registration process. I went in to announce our arrival and was given a stack of keys with guest names and room assignments done. After a cross country flight, we secured our luggage and with keys in hand found our rooms and it was goodnight. After a good night of sleep, we were all ready for a tasty breakfast and were not disappointed. We had a photo shoot at 8:00. As luck would have it, the selected spot on the grounds was soaked so Elizabeth to the rescue and without hesitation found another spot for the pictures. I gave a Marriott gift cards to each guest for incidentals but there was a glish that Elizabeth solved immediately. Needless to say; the location, the staff, especially Elizabeth, the accommodations, the food, and the ambiance of this idealistic property in the middle of nowhere with Elizabeth as my right hand, set the tone for the beginning of an unbelievable adventure to Yellowstone National Park. Thanks for some great memories that we will...
